Default You vote and I will purchase the winning intake.

I have some scratch burning a hole in my wallet and am looking to purchase an intake for my 2002 C5 vert. I don't plan on doing any other mods other than cosmetic, the car came with Borla dual tips so I am good to go in the rumble department.
I have been reading up on the Veraram, Halltech Venom, Blackwing, and Callaway and can't decide. I am leaving it up to you the experienced forum members to vote on the one you prefer and I will purchase the winner.

Thanks for your time
Rudy from NM

If you have the money, Callaway Honker gets my vote. A very nicely made and designed intake system.

Bought mine with a H&K system already on it, seems to work really well and free breathing. however don't know about any power increases except the claim from H&K's site claiming 18.5 hp increase.

I bought the Hurricane CAI - difficult to change the air filter, but a REAL cool unit

I'll get some posts up later this weekend

Do you want tip-in or roll-on?

Peace

A Ram Air type system will give you more power when you are moving because the air is being forced (pressurized) in the intake. (roll-on)

A CAI like the Venom or Blackwing will give you more throttle response from idle because it is less restrictive when the engine asks for air. (tip-in)

Peace
Chip

I vote for Vararam because that's the only intake I've seen where the people who own it always mention how much it improved their 1/4 mile as well.

Thanks for educating me Chip, I like the idea of having both tip-in and roll-on (who would'nt) but I am sure I would be happy with either.

Thanks again

How about the ol' zip tie mod.

I have a Blackwing, I really can't say how the other ones are. Do alot of research.

k&N FIPK, Is my favorite, I have straight pipes, and hypertech and i am an auto with 2:73 gears and can run high 12's. It installs easy also. Very noticeable hp gains. 30-40??

I have the Halltech. Love it. I was going to get a Blackwing but they seem similar enough. I think I might eventually do a Vararam though. Any of them you've mentioned would be a good step.
