Default How safe is Nitrous on a LS6 motor?

I have a lot of friends running 100 shots and I have some that are all motor. I just wouldn’t want to replace the motor if it did blow due to spraying it here and there ya know. I know its good bang for ur buck HP but is it really worth it in the long run??

If you are asking that question it isn't going to be safe for you.

If you want to run nitrous, get educated. Read alot, and talk to people that tune their own cars. Nitrous can be safe if you know what you are doing.

Nitrous can be very safe for your motor.... Its all in the tune.

I was spraying a 175 shot on my ls1 with a 15lb bottle and would have to refill the bottle every week. If its installed right, its great.

Definitley get educated though....

I have run a lot of N20 through numerous cars, it is great when you have it and it sucks when you run out..

Really, how? Because it introduces more oxygen to your cylinder? So is a CAI cheating? How about adding more cubic inches? supercharger? turbo? how about driving in cold weather? is that cheating?

nitrous isn't cheating. NOT using nitrous is like bringing a knife to a gun fight.

haha knew i'd punch a few buttons with that one. nitrous is temporary horse power. its true that hp is hp but temporary is temporary. now with cai, adding cubic inches, etc. its horsepower thats always there not just at the push of a button. s/c and turbo play the boost factor but are still constant horsepower.

Nitrous is not cheating. (what makes it cheating? because its cheaper?)
It is like any other power adder.
They all have their advantages and disadvantages.
Now if somone is hiding nitrous I see where you could feel cheated. But that is why I like the addage "Run what you brung and hope you brought enough".

It doesn't really bother me when people hide nitrous i their cars.... A race is about who's car is faster not whos bottles bigger or who has the bottle

So your logic is "temporary" = "cheating"? Are you serious?

Nitrous is lame.

Usually cars that run ridiculously fast on the bottle are slow off of it. In the import world all the 'big players' rely on nitrous to spool turbo their engine would be incapable of spooling without nitrous.
