absolutely!!

you can have the latest, state of the art tire changing/ balancing equipment available but the skill level and competency of the operator is even more important.

Here in the Tampa area, I've used Don Olsen on Brandon Blvd several times. They are very careful. They understand about jacking Vettes, I was impressed when I got new tires from them. Good prices and really good care.

We don't have a Goodyear or Firestone dealer in our town, the Chevy dealer wouldn't touch them. Big O said to find someone else, Tire Barn in Bloomington did them and did a nice job, I was allowed to go back and watch them. I would go back when needed.

I always use Discount Tire, and I always talk to them first and explain my concerns. I've never had a problem. I also tip to show appreciation for careful handling.

Default re

i learned the hard way-

now I bring 1 wheel, watch them do a road force balance, I put it back on and drive it. If they did not damage the rim and it is not out of balance (like the time I learned). then I bring them the other 3 and watch from the bay door. then I put them back on the car myself.

$17 for a road force balancing.

Lanier Tire in Cumming took good care of me with my non runflats. They knew right away not to lift the car until jack pucks were located. I had a set in my trunk, so we used them. Then they let me R&R the wheels and torque them down. That was fine with me. They took their time, and had one guy on replacing the tires who was familiar with these sizes.

Will be back.

The Goodyear place here is awesome. That's where I'd go.

Avoid NTB. The one here doesn't have the best machines (can't do runflats) and their techs are n00bs. They scratched the wheels on my wife's car up bad.

+1 for taking the wheels in seperately. No joyrides.

I take mine to a local tire shop (not a chain store) and they do a very good job. No marks on the wheels and balanced right the first time.
