Whether or not it's the right platform for drag racing is irrelevant -- it's just about going fast. Heck, you put two guys into shopping carts and they're going to try to see which one is faster... it's just human nature.

this person needs some practice...reaction time must have been about 3 seconds.

I'm glad to see you driving it not just polishing it

To everyone here that drives thier cars enthusiasically (drag, autoX, road, other)

For the person that said anyone can do it, that is only half right. Anyone can drive in a line for 1/4 mile, but to do it right, and do it competitively is a different thing.

Anyone know what the ET and trap was for the above listed video?

Car sounds freaking great! Though they barely got into 4th so I'm wondering how close to stock the car was.

They guy wasn't trying to launch on the lights, probably just focusing on his launch technique (rpm and clutch take-up) as well as shifting.
Nothing wrong with that!

All I said was that they are not designed for it. That is just a statement of fact. Like I said, read my other posts and you will see that I don't care what they are used for. Put off road suspension or those things that drive up the sides of big rock piles or for monster truck usage. I don't give a flying fluck

Nope not at all. You're so quick to jump on people (typical )that you never bothered to read my post supporting that people can do whatever they want with their own car (assuming it doesn't hurt others). The difference is I have at least some tact to my post while yours is nothing more than flame material.

Lastly, if you think this forum is second rate, then leave. Why waste your time on here, unless you are second rate too.

Correct! I was practicing my launch so I diren't care about getting the best reaction time I was on street tires and cut a 2.1 60 and ran a 12.5 at 118mph I have gotten a lot better since that vid.

Your comment was a flame directed at me;

I have been here a long time and never referred to Corvette Forum as 2nd rate. I should leave because I made a topic that is "fact"?
So I can't say what the "facts" are without being viewed as making flames? Check it out, I’m not Flaming. I may say some stuff that is meant to be funny or reality. I’m not going to resort to making negative statements directed at somebody. There is no reason to attack somebody that you don’t agree with.

Default You are right

I would have to agree with you 100% that the corvette was not built for drag racing and it is not the most suitable platform to start with. However, I don't think there is any rhyme or reason why any of us do what we do with our vehicles....especially when you think of how much money we put into them. Some people would call that a waste of time and money (my wife!)

Anyway, having said all that...I think I'll head on down to the drag strip and pick on some mustangs!
