You'll want to do a search on GMPP.
Usually it only applies to a car still under the original warranty period.
after the 3 years I don't know if there is any way to to get it.
Mine was a certified used car and I got a couple of extra months added by the dealer. I then added the GMPP before it expired.

If you are purchasing the vehicle from a GM dealer, I believe you have to buy it at the time of the purchase.

GMPP = Yay
I got one for my 02 Z when it had 12k miles about 3 years ago, and boy am I glad I did. About 4 weeks after I got the warranty, the EBCM went out! I didn't pay a dime and it was all fixed 100% by the GMPP.

I payed a lot for mine 2,200 plus finance at 7.9% , I used it last week for a new water pump and R%R door module. It has zero deductible and I got a loaner car.
It is nice piece of mind, especially if you drive the car kinda hard. The electrical complications alone on my car scares me, so I would for sure get it again.
Also be aware ther are 2001 C5`s that piston ring number 7, I think, is bad and burns mucho oil. I would avoid 2001 myself.

Car must be under factory 36/36 to purchase GMPP from anyone but the dealer selling you the car. If you are purchasing the car from a GM dealership they can sell you a GMPP for it on the day of purchase of the car only, not 1 day or 1 week later but the day of purchase only.

Anything can be repaired for less then the cost of the warranty. Don't fall for the BS hype "I saved a ton because this or that was replaced" They are talking stealership prices not real cost.
If the car has it great but I would not pay extra for it.

I have GMPP and I had to buy it before the car was out of factory warranty. I bought it from Dennis Fichner.

Extended warranties are a total waste of money and the BIGGEST rip-off in the auto/insurance industry.

I purchased GMPP from Dennis Fichtner. Money well spent, already paid for itself. And Dennis is great to do business with. When I get a C6 I'll do the same thing!

Maybe so, but I didn't pay that much for the GMPPs that I had on my 97 and now on my 03Z and made out on both of them. Both of them have paid out more than I paid plus the interest I would have earned on the money spent. The first one cost $900 and covered over $3500 in repairs and the second cost $1750 still has 2 years left on it and has covered over $2500 in repairs.

It's like gambling, you may need it or you may not. There is a big markup in the warranty game. Dennis Fitchner Chevrolet sells based on volume and low markup! As long as the car is still under factory, both time and miles, you can purchase GMPP from any GM dealership. I got a Chevy dealer to match Fitchner's on my 2006 Impala and bought it. Normally I do not purchase extended warranties but my gut told me to on this one. It's YOUR choice, buy it or don't. Good luck with your decision.

Why didn't you get a price from them and let me match it, bet it would have cost you a lot more money, just my 2 cents on the fairness of getting my price and then walking into a store and ask them to match, what do you think they will do.
I could rant forever but will stop!!
Just not fair to my great pricing and thank you to all of my loyal customers who know I have the best pricing and SERVICE of anyone on the internet.

If the car is eligible, the GMPP is good for the peace of mind on repairs. I agree with contacting Dennis Fichtner at Fichtner Chevy and ask about the plan.
