My one friend is diehard Ford and drives a 96 Cobra. He's always got something stupid to say, but what do I care, he's 33, lives with his Mom, and drives a car that's great . . . if you're in highschool! Another friend of 20+ years never had anything nice to say, nor bad. But he was always quick to point out that another friend of his has a Z06, and blah, blah, blah. He's just a hater cause his wife blew up like a tick, and he's got a kid ( neither of which I have, out of wise choices ) Then there's this azzhat at work and a bigtime hater. So one day I drive in my BIL's yellow Z06. He's all up in arms, like WTF?!? He says, "You traded in the black one?" I say, "Nah, I just saw this other one and had to have it!" He was a total jerk until I blew the whisle. The funny thing is, even if I HAD two Vettes, they wouldn't cost as much as his Escalade!!! I guess he just likes to feel like the alfa male of the parking lot! Whatever, people are idiots.

They like the car, but none have really gone over it. Fine with me - I didn't buy it for them anyway.

I complain about being underpaid at work, and they all point out the damn car! I say "I do make enough to afford that, which Is a hell of a lot more affordable than you think, but that doesn't mean I'm being paid on the level of the work/responsibility I do and have."

They all want . . .
They all want a ride or, if possible, to drive it. Some one. Some the other. Depends.
Even had a waitress come running out of the restaurant yelling, "Take me for a ride. I want to go."
Another gal, a bank clerk, and ask if I would take her.
Yep, they all want to go for a ride.

This is the one I love....."I wish I could afford a Corvette!" And it never fails, it's always from the guy driving the $40K pickup.
When I tell them what I paid, what kinda mileage I can get, how great it handles, and that it is crap your pants quick, they always get that starry eyed look.
You gotta love it!

The first time all my close friends saw it, it was a social gathering at one of them's house. I got there first. Every one of them as they showed up said something to the host like, "somebody parked a vette in front of your house", or "who's vette is outside". I responded "it's mine" every time. And every one of them responded with an "oh", and carried on with a new topic as if the question had never been asked.
My Mom is the one who was and is still the most excited about it. She tells everyone!! Relatives, friends, strangers. Jeepers.

I don't really get many comments. Friends have very nice rides so my Corvette isn't out of the norm.
Coworkers, well two counterparts of mine went and bought Corvettes. I think I had an impact on them
As for family, my Dad, Uncles and some cousins all have or had multiple Corvettes, must be where my passion for cars and the Corvette came from. They would be surprised if I did NOT have one at some point.

All of my friends drive Corvettes - it's a prerequisite to own a Corvette to qualify for friendship with me.
My neighbors don't speak to me, and my family lives in another state.
I guess my friends approve.....

I don't drive mine daily so it shocks people pretty good when I suddenly roll up in the vette instead of my $5K Jeep Cherokee lol.
I hear a lot of "Wish I got paid what you do" which is funny because they probably make more. I just have been pumping every cent into the vette over 3 years now which they can't wrap their heads around.

Most of my friends have nice rides so it's not that big of a deal.. But when I show up in the Z its like Damn that is a good looking car.. The ladys love it...Most of the guys say some thing about you can only drive one at a time!!! I have three other cars.. They all like the fact that they never no what I will show up in the next time we all get together..

I'm a teacher so I always get negative feedback on being overpaid or something along those lines. No body ever complains about the farmers driving the absolutely newest vehicles available though...but that's another matter entirely.
What none of them realize is that they are cheaper than what most of them drive, they hold their value much better than the SUV's, and gets the best mileage of anything I own.
