is this a good deal?
I found a 99 Frc vette 6spd 50K miles and is pewter in color has a clean title but needs some minor repairs for $10,500.
the repairs are needs a new quarter panel and slave cyl and some other minor stuff under the hood needs to put back together. he said he was going to do some **** to the motor but now wants the car gone.
how good of deal is this?

Doesn't sound bad depending on just how many minor things need to be fixed. Sometimes what seems to be a minor repair turns out to be expensive. You need to come up with a detailed list of what needs fixing and then see what it would cost to get it back in shape. Then you can make an informed decision as to how good a deal it is.

I'd stay away. Unless you really want to get a basket case and do all the work yourself. Put that amount of money towards a garage queen and have a good time driving instead of wrenching. $.02

well, I am kind of torn. If I get this vette I will have to sell my 73 cuda project. I am just wondering if this is a good enough deal to get rid of my cuda for.

I'd say a mint condition no issues car would be well bought for $18.5K with those miles and year. You should just work your way backwards from there for the repairs / condition etc to see if it's a good deal.

Small cosmetic issues and other "minor" things like you're mentioning are often surface evidence of a vette that's been mistreated in general. This isn't always the case, but it's something to potentially be wary about.

I bought a '99 FRC w/ 50k needed nothing for $18.5k over 4 years ago, granted it was a bargain at the time.
I think you could find something for a few grand more that does not need work.
Just try not to fall in love with the car until you buy it. Damn that's hard to do!!!
Good Luck,
Rob
