7 days at the VetteBarn and we have a Z06vert!!!
Yes, what was i thinking? Well why not, i have always loved the body lines of my Z06 and wanted the open air when cruising. I am transferring to TX in April and new this would be a great project for the guys who hang at the VetteBarn. (plus the wife insisted i make my Z06 into a convertible) I am one lucky owner to have a good friend by the name of Gary (GBvette) who has been their throughout this project giving guidance and helping when he could, Thanks Buddy their was also my buddy Rich that was their helping the hole way through as well, Thank you too. This conversion was pretty straight forward, 90% of the parts list i made i purchased from Cecil (C5R 427). Cecil was a huge help and a great guy to do business with. Ill try and walk though most of the pics and explain in between what was going on....This project has been awesome and i truly love how the Z came out.
this is how she looked weeks prior
the day we brought it in the VetteBarn
Completely removed the interior, quarters, and trunk lid
Say goodbye to the Z06 hard top.
Ambra (the wifey) and Gary enjoying tearing my car apart
In order to complete this conversion you must remove the roll bar, mmm... a cutting wheel can take care of that.
if you prefer you now have a nice wing.
the vert top and lid were fitted to see if their was goign to be any alignment issues, nope the Z was built off of a vert frame.

Ok so which wire is it that goes to the lid release button?
Spent one day replacing the tan top with a new black one, followed the steps in the manual and their were no tricks
Front trim panels installed, once again it all went right into place.
this speaks for it self...
Well here it is, didnt have the photo op to get great pics they will be coming soon...
All I have to Say is the VetteBarn has been good to me these 7 days.

Sweet!!!!!
If the Z came in ragtop I would have looked for one of those. You Tidewater guys just can't leave the tops alone can you.
Now you just have to deal with people who think you're a poser.
