Default Mpg

When my 2000 FRC was stock it was 29 mpg/hwy. After headers, cai, cats, predator tune, Borla, it was 26.5 mpg/hwy. After STS TT it is 32 mpg/hwy.

'01 6 speed with Z51.

Window sticker says: 19 city and 28 hwy.

Reality, about 18.6 city (I do my share of quick accelerations) and about 28-31 in 6th at cruise. Depends, head winds or varying cruise speed will lessen the mileage, as well as the speed set for cruise. About 78-84 mph and you'll be doing really well on gas mileage.

[IMG][/IMG]If I calculate it I get what this says under the best of conditions for a tank full. Do you think GM would low ball the gas mileage.

I was getting 27mpg hwy with an A4 & 2.73 rear with some stop & go LA traffic mixed in. Recently went to a 3.42 rear and now it's about 24 mpg back & forth to work.

Default gas mileage question?

In both the 98 and 99 I averaged 23-24 if I keep my foot out of it around town. If I am out on the interstate traveling somewhere and keeping it 75-80 I get 27 (that was with both cars). I can't complain for the horsepower and the ride. I felt lucky in the Jeep Grand Cherokee I owned with a striaght six to get 18 on the highway.

With my 2004 six speed car, It is very rare if I get under 20mpg around town. On the road, the gas mileage in usually in the upper 20's and low 30's.

I get 25 max on the highway with the 3.42s in the A4. I got an easy 28+ with the 2.73s. When I had the gears done, they also did headers, torque converter and a tune. I think tires also make a difference, I run Kumho ASX for reference.

From San Francisco to AZ. 610 miles each way, 75mph on cruise control, 30mph.
Other long trips about the same fuel use.

I took a road trip last year in my 2004 Z (800 miles) and averaged right at 31 mpg. I usually average around 24-25 mpg when mixing city and highway driving. If all I do is city driving the Z gets 19-20 mpg.

I don't know if it makes much of a difference, but, my car has CAI, port & polished TB, smooth couplers, LTs, high flow cats, corsa mufflers and a tune.

My 04 Z06 gets about:
30 MPG (+-1) on the freeway at 75MPH
28 MPG @ 80 MPH
10 MPG on the track

Daily driver sees right around 18MPG with mixed driving (not too genital with acceleration)

Exactly what do you mean by "genital acceleration"?

29-31 mpg hwy @ 70 mph
pulled 35 mpg once driving out of NM into west TX (slow decent from mountains to low plains).
