If you are BUYING, BUY NOW!!!!!! If you are selling, WAIT FOR SPRING, early summer. I bought my LOADED '04 MN6 Coupe with 30K miles last year, in DEC for $27.5K. The same car, three months later was retailing for
$32-34 K!

The economy is headed south and who wants to buy a Vette ( at least here in the North) and have it sit idle for the next 3-4 months?

And keep in mind prices will continue to go down not up as they get older and newer models come out.
My sentiments indeed, when the new body style caddy escalade hit the floors, the older body styles plummeted to the high teens///

It means Fixed Roof Coupe. They first came in 99-00 and then the Z06 to the FRC body style. It is the Z body style but the 99-00 are not Z's. They are more rare.

Yeah it gets confusing since the word 'coupe' is used in the Corvette world for the targa tops/hatchback, but no where else in the world. One of the only other cars to have come with targas and hardtops were the Supras. Coupes were hardtops and targas were the targa tops. FRC and coupe should go away and be replaced with Mustang terms 'hatchback and notchback'. Sounds simple right?

If anything, a real coupe is a trunk-style Z06s and fixed roofs since coupes are known as 'two-door hardtops'. The targas should be called targas or hatchbacks. And verts should be called verts.

It makes too much sense to ever catch on though.

Well, besides "Fixed Roof Coupe", as pointed out, it can, also, stand for "Fuel Rail Covers" for the engine or the disastrous "Flying Roof Club" which you want to avoid if you have a Coupe with a removable roof panel.

This is amazing to me! I was looking at an old issue of Road & Track last night (2004) where they did a road test on the first C6. At that time the MSRP was 48K!

[QUOTE=bgreen83;1563328308]I hope it gets better! I kind of given up on politicians. I don't know about anyone else. They don't ever seem to do what they say...

Only the politicians believe their foolish actions can have a real effect on the economy.
We, who live in the real world, know better.

Well, right now the Feds have a lot more to do with the economy heading south a lot more than the politicians. (Feds are central bankers and independent from any political party)

I just sold my C5 last weekend. I let it go for low bluebook. Man, it was sad to see that thing go. I just ordered a C6 though and had to make room in the garage. (Next time I may get a lift and just keep both!).

Anyway, it took about two months to sell online and I gave the buyer a great deal. Still, C6s are moving slowly too these days and dealers are dealin' for sure. I don't mind having passed some of the savings on to the new C5 owner. I still think I did well considering the deal I got on the C6. TPW is 1/15/08! Yeahhh!

The sheep are all tapped out folks. Feds played that card one too many times and the sheep tapped out all they could borrow last few times around. Death of the $7/hr worker driving $50k cars..

The Base MSRP for an '08 Coupe is $45,285 before options and it has gone up slightly every year. The $40K mentioned is the discounted price dealers are giving to sell the car.

Fully Relaxed Corvette

Maybe the depressed C5 market needs to get off the Prozac and get a 10lb shot of nitrous!

Sorry, I'm not following you? If the base price has gone up every year, how is a 2005 48K and a 2008 45K???????????

Is this some "new" math I don't know about

The 2005 $48k price was probably not the 'starting' price but rather a 'well-equipped' model. Just a thought.
