Given up muscle car to buy Z06?

I bought my '02 Z06 two years ago but kept my '65 Chevelle Malibu SS because I couldn't stand to part with it after all the work I put into it and I am the president of a classic car club. I should have sold it because once I got the Z, I really had no desire to drive the Chevelle except to go to occasional car shows. The Chevelle is a real nice driving car that is great to drive on the Hotrod Power Tour, but it is not in the same league as the Z. I also have a '69 Porsche 911T that I autocross about twice a month, so there is not much time left for the Chevelle anymore.

I got my 01 vette a bit over a year, had a 75 vette before. I do miss my stingray but my c5 is much more reliable and faster. My brother kept his 70 camaro and got a c5 z06. Guess which one is always park, the camaro of course

Well since you do own more than one first gen Camaro, sell the better one and raise more cash, buy the Corvette and keep the project Camaro(s) for a fun project.
I'm surprised how many have sold their classic and muscle cars and don't miss them though. As much as I love my C5 I really enjoy the '65 Elky; of course besides shows and cruise-ins I do make it earn it's keep around here, yesterday I used it to pick up a load of firewood. The guy in the lot thought it was pretty cool.

PS I might be interested if you decide the Camaro is up for sale.

I sold my 1930 Ford coupe [chevy powered of course] to pay off my c-5 and regret selling my coupe. I should have kept them both! I had that little coupe for 12 years and it would turn low 11s without even breathing hard. I love my c-5 but I really miss my streetrod. My advice is keep em both if you can!

Dude! It was one of the best decisions I made and I have got way more power than I ever had in my 1966 Chevelle w/350 CID and Turbo 350 Auto trans! 410 gears and 3500 stall!
It only ran a 12.5 second 1/4 but the Vette is way more advanced as well it has an AC Unit and a Heater!
Now I have a SuperCharged Vette and it was way easier to do than the Chevelle would have been! I always wanted to do a SuperCharger on the Chevelle!
Thanks,Matt

I just couldn't get rid of my muscle car so I kept it and bought the C5 anyways! To be honest the muscle car doesn't get the same seat time as my vert but it is still nice to take her out once in awhile.

I have a 67 Chevelle SS396 project in my garage. I would not sell it for a C5, and I would sooner sell the C5 I have before I sold the Chevelle. The prices of the C5 are dropping and you should be able to pick one up pretty reasonably and be able to have both.

If I may, I am compelled to add that everyone who has advised so far already has a Corvette. I haven't found my first 'Vette yet and I'd sell that Camaro in a heartbeat to finance a C-5 if I were in your shoes.
