Default Did you buy it to race it?

How many of you guys/gals bought your car to race it till the wheels fall off? How many of you wanted a garage queen/weekend warrior?

I personally bought my Z06: Because I love them, its a beautiful car.... but more importantly to race the crap out of it. First race event in the car this January... I can't hardly wait, easily the funnest car I've ever driven or owned, and I've only had it two weeks

What about you?

No, not to race, more to own as a street car. However, I did have some limited HPDE & drag racing in mind, but very limited. Last year, just 4 HPDE days (3 events) and 10 passes on street tires.

The point of the track usage for me is really just to enjoy & experience what the car can do. You can't do that on the street.

I am not much of a racer and that was not even a consideration when I was buying mine. Never been on a dragstrip or autocross track. Maybe someday. I bought mine to use as a daily driver. So far in the first month of ownership I have added over 2000 miles to what was a 12125 car when I first got it.

bought mine for just the fun of it maybe an occasional run to the strip but truley having a fast car helps me keep my sanity. Running to the casino or a trip through towm Keeps me grounded.

I love drivers education weekends! Driving on road courses really makes drag racing seem boring. I just wish I could afford to go to the track more!

I previously owned a 2000 Coupe (beautiful car). It was fun, but I always wanted a Z06. I got lucky and found a Black '02 Z06. The car is everything I wanted. The car can be both a daily driver & 'race car' (autocross & drag racing).

I bought it to replace my E36 M3 as my track car. Sparcos are in, Pfadt suspension is next, and LG pros after that. The M3 was a great car , very well balanced, but I ran out of motor on big tracks like Road America. I don't think I'll have that situation with the Z.

Me either. I have had to around 4500 and that seems to get me going pretty good. Very nice little rush and no worries about picking up parts.

You guys need to wind out that LS6 to feel the power a few times. I bounced mine of the rev limiter a few times during the test drive.

When I got it, I didn't even know about HPDEs. Now, I'm addicted to them. I've been to 1 autocross and 2 track days. I'm going to one last track day with the vette this Tuesday before I start building up an e30 bmw for the track.
