What Premium gas station do you go to?
I was wondering what gas station you all pump premium with?
I just so happen to live near 76 gas station and my work place is a few blocks away from a 76 gas station. So I always pump Premium at 76...I have heard that chevron premium is a good choice.... Am I ok pumping at 76 gas station with Premium? or should I make the switch?

Its all the same gas wherever you buy it. The days of the dedicated Chevron tanker truck or a Shell truck are long gone. Now all you see is the guy/gal they contracted to drive and make the deliveries. The same truck that delivers to the Chevron station is the same one that delivers to the Shell station. At least that has been my observation...
As long as it says 91 octane on the pump you're good to go...

Before I owned my vette, I had a Audi A4 99. I used to take that to ARCO at times and I noticed that ARCO gas is like "watered" down because it would not last. So I switched to Shell and 76 and they last a while.
My uncle told me that the gas that comes into the USA only gets distributed. The quality of the gas never decreases since the source of the gas is the same everywhere. However, each gas company provides a certain something...

GM recommends to use a top tier gasoline! I use Texaco. The additive of Techtron is supposed to help vettes and their gas gauge sensor problems. Here is what I have found when doing some research...
Why TOP TIER
The intention of the TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline standards is to create a winning situation for gasoline retailers, auto manufacturers and drivers.** Currently, many gasoline retailers provide fuels with lower-quality additive packages that can build up deposits on fuel injectors and on intake valves.**Others can build up deposits in combustion chambers and may lead to intake valve sticking.**These lower levels of additives can have negative impacts on engine performance and vehicle responsiveness.
TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline Retailers
Gasoline retailers must meet the high TOP TIER standards with all grades of gasoline to be approved by the automakers as providing TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline.
In addition, all gasoline outlets carrying the brand of the approved retailer must meet the TOP TIER standards.
Additional gasoline retailers are added to the TOP TIER list as they meet the standards.**The retailers known to be on the TOP TIER list are shown below.
TOP TIER Gasoline Retailers:
QuikTrip
Chevron
Conoco
Phillips
76
Shell
Entec Stations
MFA Oil Company
Kwik Trip/Kwik Star
The Somerset Refinery, Inc.
Chevron-Canada
Aloha Petroleum
Tri-Par Oil Company
Shell-Canada
Texaco
Petro-Canada
Sunoco-Canada

Shell here, it's about the only "top tier" in my area...

A twice-yearly gasoline-quality survey by the trade group Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers "hasn't identified any quality differences based on geography or brand," says Alliance spokesman Charles Territo. But, he adds, "That's not to say that certain vehicles won't perform better with certain fuels."

"I see these ads on TV where Shell says, 'We filled up with Shell and some other gasoline and saw a difference,' and I think it's a myth," says Thomas Darlington, engineer and consultant at Air Improvement Resource in Novi, Mich., and formerly at the EPA.
"Gasolines today are very, very clean from the standpoint of not forming engine deposits" because of the EPA and industry requirements, he argues. What does he buy? "I'm not brand-conscious. I go for price, as long as it doesn't have ethanol." He says ethanol cuts mileage 1% to 2% because it has a lower energy content than pure gasoline.

"I really look at these commercials and wonder, 'How do these guys justify this?' I don't see the benefits," says John Frala, who teaches auto mechanics at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, Calif. He says he's never seen a breakdown due to engine deposits.

"It's hype," says Dennis DeCota, executive director of the California Service Station and Automotive Repair Association. "It would be very hard to differentiate" among brands.

To the best of my knowledge, there is not a single "top tier" retailer within ten miles of where I live. I use WaWa premium, and add a bottle of Seafoam about four times a year. No problems with anything, so guess the strategy works. I do use Shell when on the road, if possible. Exxon gasoline gets not a penny of my money. I haven't forgotten they still haven't cleaned up after themselves in Alaska. (I think Techron is an Exxon-Mobil product)

I'm surprised BP isn't on the Top Tier list, that's what I use because it's the only premium in my town, so it's convenient, and when I travel, they are all over. Their premium is 93 octane, and I add a bottle of Techron a couple times a year.
But since thy're not on the list, wonder if I need to look elsewhere for my premium gas?
