Bye-Bye Stingers...
Ahhh, after having my quad borla stingers for 5 months-ish on my H/C Longtube/no cat Z I needed a break They were obnoxiously loud... but man did it sound GOOD! Swapped them back out with some factory Ti's again. Was nice to be able to talk to he wife without raising our voices on the way back home though Might have to find a happy medium between factory and stingers though... any suggestions, without DRONE!!??

I couldn't wait to get rid of my Borla Stingers. I replaced the with Corsa Pace Cars. I have Kooks headers and they sound great and very loud at WOT... best of all NO Drone exactly as advertised.

Yup, another Borla bites the dust...
Like others have said, try the Corsa Pace Cars. I think they will give you the WOT that you are looking for without the resonance..

Whatever you do don't go with the SLP Loudmouths. I like them just for the reason that they are loud and make my Z sound like a Nascar. But it's just my weekend toy. If it was my daily driver those SLPs would be taken off. You get the drone and have to keep the windows cracked or your ear drum will bust. LOL But, I knew that before I bought them. That's just how I roll!

Tell me it aint so! I here a lot of people bad mouth the stingers but I have very little drone from mine .It may be because I don't have longtubes or that I put a rubber bed liner from a truck under my rear carpet. The rubber mat really quietes the cab.

I did the same several years ago when the Borlas first came out. I switched to them for a few months and eventually went with Ti's and cutouts to get the best of both worlds.
It was painful getting rid of the Borlas because they sounded so sweet - but the drone was horrendous on my heads/cam/header car. Also, I had spent hours polishing them to a mirror finish and sold them at the same price non-polished versions were going for. New buyer didn't even realize what a deal he got.

I read a post on here a few months ago about a member that used Car Chemistry inserts to eliminate all resonance and quiet the stingers a bit.
these inserts are what racers use at tracks with noise restrictions to tame their open exhausts.

well, what did you expect when you replaced the stock, huge mufflers?
I love my Stingers....they make the car sound like a Corvette instead of my mother's Buick.
Much of the "drone" is lack of factory sound deading materials.

Corsa Pace car and LT's - as the others said, very quiet at highway speeds in top gear, until you drop down to 3rd or even 4th and punch it. No drone whatsoever, and absolutely sounds incredible at WOT.
