That's very cool, I'm so pleased for you! Great news that he's home safe and sound.
I'm sure I speak for most if not all on this forum when I say please thank him for his service
I'm sure that this is the best Christmas present you could get

The ONLY rules are "NO ALCOHOL" and be aware that the tires are compromised due to TEMPERATURE. (LEAVE THE TRACTION CONTROL ON!)
Other than that, have a BLAST!
Thank all of you for your replies!!

Hell Bill, if you son was in Toronto, I'd let him drive mine!!
First class move on your part and equally as important, nice to hear he'll be home for the Holidays.
Let him know the Canadian boys appreciate his contribution as well

As an Air Force veteran, I can appreciate the sacrafice your son, and entire familiy are making. Thanks to your son, we can live free in the greatest country in the world.
We're asking so much of the brave men and women of the military today. When I see a young soldier, sailor, airman or marine at the airport or in a restaurant, I cover their tab. This country has provided me so much oppurtunity; the least I could do is share my good fortune with the men and women who stand strong on America's behalf, defending our freedoms. I would ask that you good C5 owners show your appreciation for these "true heroes".

Hey Bill,
Your excitement is showing through just a tad! It's practically jumping off the screen!! I'm happy to hear about your son's safe return. By all means let him drive the car. What's a Father for, right?
I'm also awaiting my son's return. He's deployed on WestPac on the USS Connecticut (SSN-22) until early next year. I'll be in Bremerton when they return to their new homeport. I'm sure I'll be as excited as you are now.

I have spent MANY years on US Submarines (BOOMER & FAST ATTACK) and I can assure you you SON will be fine!
I "PERSONALLY" inspected their ships SAIL prior to their transfer to the west coast and ,,,,,I can attest that, that part of the ship is 100% There are NOT very many submarine FOES that will challenge the CT!! THERE A VERY COMPETENT FORCE, and second to none. If i can put it in lawman's terms, "there the ZO6 of the submarine force! GOD BLESS OUR SUB SAILORS! Take that to the bank!
Your son is in GOOD hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Respectively

That's a no brainer. Give him anything he wants, but understand he is not the same son you said good-bye to 14 months ago. I did two tours in that hell hole and it's taken me months to feel normal. He will be still running very high on adrenaline, and the vette is the perfect thing to help him burn some of that off.
God bless him and all the American Patriots who defend this country.

I can feel your relief on his return.
My son has been twice and is going back very very soon. It scares the hell out of me each time. Who could imagine? That scrappy little **it is doing a hell of a job. He is a Captain now. He is not the same. When he is ready to talk. JUST LISTEN. The service men and women are under tremendous pressure when they are deployed.
Best wishes to them all.
