Flying fickle finger Cup Holder mod w/pics
I posted this mod a while back but lost it during an edit. Here it goes again. Enjoy the finger.
The flying fickle finger is a spring loaded finger that pops up when you open the cup holder to add support to your beverage of choice.
To start with it requires taking the ash tray out to use the door to cut the finger out of. You will use the spring and hinge pin to support the finger, so do not cut them.
Next, remove the radio bezel (see spdkilz.com (excellent how to site) for how to remove it.) From underneath make two holes to accept the ash tray door support hinge pin. I made the holes by heating a nail held in plyers with a Bic style lighter, then just poke the hole. Make sure to use a nail smaller than the the hole you need, then force the hine pin into the hole. You will need to make a 90 degree bend at about one third of the hinge pins length.
Then thread the fickle finger onto the hinge pin and from the top of the bezel insert the straigth portion into the hole on the driver's side and the bent portion into the hole on the passenger side.
Now sit back and enjoy your favorite beverage.

What a neat idea. Too bad GM didn't think of something like that.
