Default B&B PRT's or Borla Stingers?????

Want to get fellow Vette owners opinions on these two systems, as I'm trying to decide between the two. Which one is louder? Has less or more drone? Which one sounds like a Vette and not a Honda Civic?
I'm looking for something in the middle as compared to DB ratings. I have a convertible and still want to talk to the paasenger. But I still want to hear it at cruise. I usually cruise between 65-80MPH. I also want to sound loud at WOT. I guess I want the best of both worlds but I know its impossible. Just want the best one that can go good at both! My Vette is completely stock. I might add an X-pipe, intake, TB,3:90 gears and be done with it. Any comments appreciated. I looking for the same sound as my cigarette boat with twin 502ci with 525HP. I love that deep bass sound. Don't like the high pitched sound

I second that. I'm running the same set up on a C5 Z06 and love the B&B PRT's.

I have prt's also, but they both sound really nice.

I actually think the Borla's might have a bit lower tone to them

My stingers seem to have a little lower, more bass, tone than the B&B's I've heard. I don't notice any drone, and they sound wicked when you get on it. IMO

Here are two clips for you the first one is the borlas

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/9...2c015a8552.htm

This one is of the prt's

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3...240134f5b4.htm

I have the prt's and they have alot less drone than the borlas. They are actually a little too quiet for me(I came from the bullets and switched to the prt's). Hope this helps.

My Vette is getting Stingers and should be able to pick her up tomorrow, if I can find someone to give me a ride out to CHP. So far, no one has offered me one. Oh well, it's only 25 miles. If I start at 3am, I should be able to get there by 10am when they open/

If you had to do it all over again, which ones would you buy? Would you stay with the PRT's?

If I were to stay with my current setup.......yes

I am going with LG pro's and hi flow's,so I am not sure what the sound level inside the cabin will be,but I don't think Stingers will tame that lil' issue
I have been behind Brandon 619 when he down shifted and took off like a Batouttahell!!!!It sounded Great from back there!
Here is a link of my current setup on the dyno with some other cars.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ghlight=a+dyno

Click on link, then dyno run link, then I'm first up.

Keep in mind ,at least some of the other cars after me are VERY high hp cars, which can have a lot to do with the sound too.I am basicaly stock, just shorty headers and stock cats

I had Borla Stingers with a Magnaflow X Pipe and stock manifolds on my coupe for a couple of years and loved it. I read too many posts from folks with B&Bs with broken hangers and getting bad customer service from B&B when they tried to get them fixed. Maybe they have remedied that situation.

Now I have AR headers hooked to the Stingers. My intial impressinon was that these were obnoxiously loud and had a lot of drone at 1500 RPM; more than I could tolerate. I fixed that with some CC Inserts. If I had it to do all over again knowing I was going to put headers on, I would have gone for a stock Z06 TI exhaust or a set of GHL Magnums of Bullets. You should really take some time and check out the GHLs. They sound awesome. Good luck with it.

I have a side by side video, of my vette with blackwing, cam,Stage2 heads, Kooks LT's, no cats, offroad x-pipe with Borla Stingers, next to my brothers intake, BB cat back system with no mufflers. If someone PM's me thier email address, I'll send them the clip, maybe they can post it. I can't figure out how to post stuff on here for the life of me.

Swapped the exhausts out for a day. BB's were WAY TOO LOUD in my car without mufflers. Liked the sound of the BB's but love the sound of the Borla's. BB catback is just as loud as Borla with LT's and no cats.

Don't mind the dirty cars. We were apple picking and had to drive down a long dirt road, then it rained.

My bro just had to weld his hangers. His pipes were rattling. He had the BB for 4 years and had to weld them. I'm going on 6 years with the Borla system and no problems thus far.

Both look and sound nice. The Borlas will sound more aggressive and probably have more drone than the PRTs.

The PRTs have a nice rumble at idle, are perhaps a little louder than stock on normal acceleration, yet sound great at WOT without sounding too obnoxious. Some say they are too quiet, but they certainly won't drive you crazy on a road trip or in day-to-day driving.

I also like the B&B quad oval tips, very cool looking on a C5.

For a louder but still very pleasing sound, go Borla's...and if you are a real glutton for punishment...or just like lots of attention, go with some B&B Bullets.

Good luck.

We have two vettes one with stingers and the other with prt's. The borla is definately a deeper tone and mostly keeps the deep tone all the way through the rpm's. The prt is more gurgly at idle and is raspy in the high rpm's. The prt's scream when you go WOT vs the borla's just get louder but done really change tone.
