I've changed back and forth between Mobil 1 and Royal Purple until I stayed with Royal Purple. I have 40K on it now. The car is not a garage queen either. Street, autocross, road courses. No issues.

Once you get the majority of it drained out. You can move the jack around between corners and front and rear and get more to come out. I've managed to get 3.5qts out. You'll be fine. The trans is not that sensitive.

If you're referring to Royal Purple then no. RP Synchromax for the trans. Roughly 4qts. RP Max Gear 75w-90 for the differential. Roughly 2qts. I don't add limited slip modifier to the Max Gear either. Use as is.

If you track your car sucking out all the stock PS fluid and replacing with RP Synthetic PS seems to help. No steering rack issues and no foaming or boiling issues with PS fluid under high heat/strain.

I've been using royal purple snycromax in my trans for 4k miles now with good results. I feel like the shifting has improved since its been in there. I also have the anti-venom mod with two washers.

I use RP 75w-90 full synthetic in the rear but has anyone tried the Redline HeavyWeight Shockproof (pink stuff) before?

I went through the same thing as you. First I tried Dexron VI, then Mobil 1, and lastly Royal Purple. RP was the only fluid I felt a noticeable difference of any kind, definetely for the better. Shifting is much smoother using RP than the others.

I've run the RP MaxGear in the diff for 2 track/ax/street seasons now. I drain and refill every season. No GM limited slip additive needed. It works fine all by itself. I've also verified this with RP Tech Support.

No problem. If you don't track the car then you can run that for quite a while. I'm not sure the owners manual even states a service interval on it. I'd say 50K on a street car. The stuff is quite rugged. If you hear chatter at low speeds turning full lock on the steering wheel then that is usually an indicator that the GM additive is required.

A simple test. Do this anyway. After you swap out the gear fluid. Go find a supermarket parking lot. Do tight figure eights at slow speed. Do about 10 of them. This squeezes the diff fluid into all the places it needs to go. Now just drive the car. If you notice a chatter at low speed while turning then put the additive in. Otherwise skip it. I've never added it to the RP in the Z06 or my C4 that I used to have.

Well, I went with the Royal Purple oil. Shifting is MUCH easier now. I even noticed a difference just moving the gear-shifter without driving the car.
Thanks for the replies!
