Who drives with traction control off?
I am just curious. I still have not turned tc off on the Vette. But its the 1st thing i do when i start my Stang. So i am wondering how many of you regularly or always turn your tc off in your Vette? And is it a bad idea?

Unless you want to spin the tires off, leave it on.
BUT.... if you want to make those nice thick black markes ten inches wide, shut her off and smoke the hell out of them!!!
Go fast!

Never drive with it on, I dont like the feeling of the vehicle taking over accerlation factors, and if you have a top notch rearend, leave it off, its a much better driving experience.

I have turned it off occasionally but its saved me twice in situations where I least expected to need it; and one of those was just last week when a truck tried to drive me off the road. I've been driving for 34 accident free years by the way and, no I'm not a 20 below the limit guy.
Some guys say they want to feel the car and drive it to the limit. I can live with that. The average driver may not be that used to 350HP+ down the back end.
Why inhibit a great safety feature unless you're on the track? If you're worried about AH or TCS affecting handling, maybe you're driving faster than you should be with other cars around? JMHO.

step one, admit you bought the vette because you are addicted to horsepower.
Step two, realize this by turning the traction control off.
Step three, spin the tires and realize its the largest smile of you life.

Very seldom do I turn it off. Just on occasion when I want to push the pedal down more than usual.

normal street driving it usually stays on to keep me in check - anytime I head out for spirited driving, auto-x, or lapping days it comes off...

Only problem is I have this hatered to slow people.... and tires in general it seems!!!!
But it is the smart move, leave it on unless your racing or dont care about loosing control and burning up tires (new drivers).
Pulling onto the interstate and hammering it with the traction control off will spin your tires in most cases.... especially if you have the bad habit of leaving your N2O on......

Unless I forget, I always turn mine off. I do use Competition mode which keeps the active handling on. I don't think it would be much different than the stang. My car is a garage queen so I only drive on dry roads. If she were a daily driver I'd probably leave it on for the occasional wet roads. Still I'm very careful. I once stopped for fuel and picked up some oil on the tires and...well, you know, you have to be more careful.

Wet roads, traction on unless you want to hit that tree there----
dry roads--- personal opinion, I usually have it on unless there is one of those special corners coming up...
Drive to live.

I only turn mine off occaionally only when it's dry or I'm at the drag strip!
I would never turn it off on wet roads!
It's definately a good feature to have. It means the difference between being able to drive such a powerful car normally and even putting your foot down when it's wet or just sitting there spinning the your wheels or being in the nearest tree!
