Default question about options on your vette!

there is one option that is missing on all corvettes..radio steering controls..now i'm not really complaining because the radio is not a far reach from your right hand, but i'm surprised that GM has them on almost every car except for the corvette!

does somebody have a answer why?

Its because you need one hand to drive and the other to wave, so no hands free for buttons to control the radio and they gave us the steering colum lock option instead!

I looked at a 07, 3Lt, Coupe, that had steering wheel radio controls. I do not remember what radio package it had.

Yeah, the '07 is the first model to have that option.

Give me a radio, air conditioning, and power window delete package and I'd be a happy camper.

Not to hijack this thread, or anything, but I thought I'd reply here instead of cluttering up your PM box. My 3 button remote fits perfectly in the ashtray compartment with the ashtray removed, so I'm covered for all my remote control needs. In fact, the remote fits so well, people ask me if it came with the car! It doesn't move around at all, I can close the compartment door, and it's black with white buttons, so it really does look like it belongs in that spot. If you want pics, let me know.

my 94' formula firebird had the big giant radio buttons that all the early-mid 90's pontiacs had, it would have been so easy to add the controls, I have no idea why the vette didn't ever get them til recently. The smaller redesigned buttons on my 00' t/a could have easily been adapted, shucks, even the CARMARO had them!

I, I, I, I don't know

Maybe it's just a cost thing and something extra to go wrong!

I've actually noticed that on my other car with the steering wheel control for the radio, that I don't use it and when I attempt too I get more distracted then using the stereo controls!

Thanks,Matt

Everything mentioned in this post ARE on the C6's, so I guess GM DID do it, finally.

It can be oriented in a way that you can easily see it, or laid flat so it's more incognito. No adhesive, or anything else, is required to get it to stay put.
