Located in the sticky note.... but here is direct link...

Brent Franker Link

His site is F-bodies, but the same gear works in the C5.

BTW - The patient has healed and has completely recovered -works just like new

I did fab up a bracket just for sure. It would be hard pressed now to come apart!

Everything is 1/4 inch drive - 10mm socket (with several extensions) and end wrench and about 30 minutes off, 12 hour cure on the glue and 30 min back in. NO problems whatsoever!

Hey DiyGuy, I understand that I will have to glue my housing back together on my 2001 Coupe when I repair it. Exactly what glue should I use?

If you go with either vendor, they will send a specialized glue in the kit. I looked up the glue (forget at the moment) from Frankers kit as I had heard the set-up time was very short. So, after an hour and it was still gooooey look up the manf on the web. Has a 3 hour window to work before it sets up. That's why it took overnight to cure.

Don't know what's in it but it dries and sands just like the material the gear case is made of. I would seriously doubt it coming un-glued.

Good Luck ----->

Hope your repair job works. If not at least you know what to order to do it right. Let's hope this is all that jack leg mechanic "fixed" Frank

I went with the Franker solid brass gears since this is the second time I have had to replace the gears. I replaced both with brass gears and the rubber insert and the rubber was destroyed and in little chunks in a year. Mr. Franker and I are doing a little experiment though, he sent me one brass and one anodized aluminum for me to try. The obvious difference is the weight and the color but both fit in there real nice.
