Default Twilight Sentinel

My 03 vette is about a month old and I am still waiting for the owner's manual, which was ordered. My question is, can the twilight sentinel be turned off, and if so, how do you do it? Thanks

Yes, push the "options" button on the right side of the steering wheel, scroll tough until you see the twilight one and then hit "reset" button.

I thought it was one of the options when you circle through the options button!

if you are in Canada no ... it's a Canadian law for them to be on all the time . maybe you can find a dealer that will turn off the z49 option with a techII . but I do not think you will get a dealer to do it >

thanks for the replys. I thought it was only the daytime running lights that are required in Canada. I tried resetting the twilight sentinel in the options menu, but nothing happens. It appears to be locked.

All you need to do is take out the #44 relay that is located in the fuse box in the passenger footwell. I have had mine out since 2002, everything works fine, you just have to put your headlights on and off manually.

Good Luck

Myragtop;

Thanks;

So is it true that I cannot turn the twilight sentinel off because of living in Canada.

Opps no longer on NCM's site.

That does sound a bit silly you can't turn sentinel off, sentinel has to do with turning on/off the headlights under certain light conditions. The feature is not related to DRLs. Is everyone talking about the same lights, etc.?

I found the #44 relay, but do you need a special tool to remove it or does it just pop out. It appears to be pretty snug in the fuse holder.

Aren't those the two big ones upper left side?

If so remove the two smaller one's next to it, might need needle nose to pull it out (what I used) and then put the smaller two back in.

There is another way. Here it is:

http://www.corvettegadgetman.com/

I have a Canadian C5, this is easy to install and works as advertised.

Yup, ya got that right.

Just use some needle nose pliers, it may take a little persuasion, but should come right out.
