Tornado at Carlisle-not a joke
Edit: There were no fatalities, but some were injured.
Thought this was a joke at first.
Then I kept reading. Too bad for WCC, bought a couple of things from them yesterday. ECS made it through. Waiting to hear more.

Big Storm Hits Carlisle, PA
Big storm hits Carlisle
High winds, heavy rain knock out power, force evacuations
By Heather Stauffer, Aug. 25, 2007
The heat that gripped Cumberland County earlier today exploded into a series of strong storms this evening. Reports of scattered damage -- trees, limbs and electrical wires down, plus some hail -- began filtering in, with the worst apparently in Carlisle Borough.
The storms left more than 11,000 people without power, according to PPL regional community public relations director James Nulton, with more than 6,000 of them in Carlisle Borough.
"It was some fierce wind, unbelievable," said Rhonda Irwin, who lives on the 600 block of Mooreland Avenue. Around 8:30 p.m., she said, the street was still impassible because it was covered with downed limbs. Electricity was out there, she said, and Carlisle Mayor Kirk Wilson said the same could be said of large areas of the borough.
"It's really hard to get a handle on the damage right now," Wilson said. "Traffic lights are out, street lights are out: We've called in the county's special police emergency response team to handle traffic at intersections."
And, he said, in the 100 block of Cedar Street, police evacuated some residents because "we had electrical wires arcing and a gas leak simultaneously."
So far, he said, he hadn't heard reports of many injuries except at Carlisle Fairgrounds. John Bruetsch, chief of the Cumberland County public information team, was on the scene there and said that one man sustained moderate injuries after a tree fell on his Corvette. There were several other more moderate injuries, he said.
More on this story will appear in Sunday's Sentinel.
