Default C5 on Bonneville salt flats

Has anyone here ever driven their C5 on the Bonneville Salt Flats? I would love to go to Utah and be able to give her all she's got. That would be awsome. Anyone here ever had the experience?

I have not but check out Patrick over at digitalcorvettes. He did the flats not too long ago and has posted a great deal on it. Great pics and some video shots as well...

I haven't done The Flats, but I have done the Maxton Mile with ECTA (East Coast Timing Association) in North Carolina. There's also the Texas Mile.
I highly recommend doing at least once, it's a huge rush, and I find it more fun then drag racing. There are a lot of classes to fit the different mods you may have done and then there's always TO (Time Only) and they certify you to run up to a specific speed based on your safety equip

Although I may feel different if I could trap 155 in the 1/4 and not the mile

I'm only about 80 miles from the flats myself but have never been out there. I would love to check it out some time.

If memeroy serves me correctly, that pic is of the Mobile Bay during the start of the Iraq War. I was actually on the Camden, Oiler for the Abe Lincoln Battle Group. One of my old Ops Bosses was the Ops O on the Mobile Bay and sent me some pics...

Love the pics of the Greyhound launches...

I did time with the Camden...The Cowpens switched homeports to Japan and many of the crew crossdecked between the Mobile Bay and us. Luckily I was out before that happened, no time in JApan for me.

I have driven by in the past and was in my old truck so going on the flats would not have been an option
