the thing that plugs into the side of the air bridge
what is it, and is it possibly why i'm throwing a check engine code--since my new "power duct" air bridge doesnt have a hole for it, it's just dangling now.

you really should have the temp sensor in there somewhere. it can go in the front or rear of the airbridge or in the coupler too if need be. but without it the cars computer will have a inaccurate temp reading of the air going in the engine. i could see this throwing a trouble code. i may be wrong but seems to me it could. the car may be running very rich for too long or too lean because of the heat generated from the engine bay and not getting fresh cool air passing by it like it would be in the airbridge.

"Put it in" No pun intended
I had the same thing. Wrong air bridge on my haltech. It is temp sensor for air. Need to install it. Just drill a hole and insert it in the new bridge. Also, I recomend that you disconnedct the battery, clear the codes, then RUN it for some time so the computer can re-learn your settings.

Also, you can do what I did. Ecklers sells a remote air sensor kit. It extends the sensor anywhere you want it under the hood. I located it on the radiator shroud just in front of the blackwing. Not sure if it made any difference, but I didn't have to fool around drilling holes and finding grommets, and I never got a code on my 97.

Needs to be installed.
Easy enough - drill hole, insert grommet, plug in.
Do a search in Tech for size hole, etc.
