Just for the record I do my own oil changes and a lot of the mods myself. Someone sent this to me.

Happens everyday all the time. Nothing new. If you're taking your vette to anyone but a reputable mechanic you're asking for it. Forum members can point you to a mechanic in your area if you don't do the maintenance or repairs yourself.

Everyone is always trying to take advantage of someone!
I will either do it myself or have the dealer do it!
On the Vette only LAPD will service it from now on!
Thanks,Matt

I don't take it there anyway - I do my own oil changes.

reminds me of when I took my vette to Pettijohns dealer in Bethany Mo. to get the column lock recall done. They did nothing and said they did. I took the car back and was mad and they wouldn't even talk to me.

yeah so true... that's why I trust very few with my girls 1966, 1972, and 2000... i do all the repairs, mods and maintain myself. Before I had a lift though I took the 2000 to a jiffy lube and gave them the filter and oil to put in and then, just for laughs, asked them to check the trans fluid... once done they came back in and said everything was fine and full. I ask, " where on the stick was the trans fluid level" he said, "it was in the full zone." I then laughed and asked for the manager... asked him to explain his worker's ability to honestly perform his duties... he seemed confused so I then took them both into the garage and explained the driveline setup and rearend configuration of the trans on the C5.... never went back there and now I have a lift and do everything myself.... thay all suck!

P.S. I didn't pay them anything that day either...
