Default DIC oil change calculation

OK, changed my oil about two months ago, mileage was 33701, mileage is now 34814. I reset the DIC, said 99%. Today I check the DIC and it says oil life at 11%.

It can't possibly be right. Mobil 1 should be good for at least 5000 miles.

Driving is weekends mostly, out to dinner, to the beach, stuff like that. Lot of highway driving since thats all we have out here in SoCal.

Any comments????

Unless you are drag racing constantly, I'd say that your DIC is wrong there bud....

What was the % on the DIC before you changed the oil? Perhaps you didn't really reset the DIC, despite seeing it say 99%. What procedure did you use to reset the % on the DIC?

Alot of times at my job esp on Vettes you will think it resets and wont.... Just because there are 3 x's (XXX) it doesnt mean it has reset until you see the 100% on the DIC.

The best way to reset the oil life monitor is to turn the ignition on without starting the engine and press the accelerator pedal 3 times. Goes to 100% with no questions.

Sounds like the DIC did not reset. You certainly should get more mileage than that on the oil.
