What tires do you have on I doubt that mine would have been safe at that speed they are about 1/2 life.

These are Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (non-runflats). Tread is around 5mm (front and rear) of 8mm new. For such driving I consider 4mm minimum!

I reached 167 there last year in someone elses C5.. Car felt alittle floaty so I backed off. I wish I had my Vette there with a tighter suspension and 460HP! I drove it in the rain too but only stayed in the low 100's....I want to make enough money to travel there afew times a year just to get the speed bug out of my system, and then come to slow poke USA.

which means slippery when the road is wet or dirty. I wouldn't want to drive faster than 60 to 80 mph after this sign when its raining. More often, however, one encounters this sign combination
"Bei Nässe" means "when wet." In the Vette and when wet, I stay at 90 km/h (55 mph). This situation is also shown in the video; it's where I get passed all the time by other cars. I think that driving fast in light rain is reasonably safe on German autobahns when one obays the speed limits. Sections that are slippery or prone for hydroplaning (since there may be standing water there) should idealy be marked with a speed limit. Still, when driving at such speeds, one better does not make any major mistakes and one needs to be prepared to temporarily loose grip due to hydroplaning or otherwise.
By the way: there have been several instances of Vettes with extremely wide tires (that is C4-ZR1 and C6-Z06) spinning on the wet Autobahn at speeds of around 60 mph. Finally, close to where I live, I young man recently killed himself in a Dodge Viper. He was blocked by a slower vehicle driving in the leftmost lane. After that verhicle finally switched lanes, the Viper driver apparently accelerated a little too hard, lost control, and drove his car underneath the guardrail.

Great video; wish we could do that here in the states and not have to pay to use the track.

I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZPs and they seem to do really well in the rain. We are now in our monsoon season. Yesterday it was pouring pretty good off and on so the roads were well wet, some standing.
I'm quite surprised at how well it grips the road, especially wet. Not saying I can't break it free but careful driving you can accelerate pretty hard and stay in road contact.
Oh rats..... excellent video thanks for sharing.
