Default What mechanical problems have you had with your z06?

I had to replace the EBCM. Battery died. Also, my water pump was leaking coolant, so I just recently replaced that. A couple were expensive repairs, but it goes with the territory. My car burns oil, not as bad as the 01's, it's not a big deal. She runs strong, though!

Late August of this year will be two years I've owned this fine car. Took it home with 812 miles(2004 car) it now has 18,XXX miles with ZERO problems.

My warranty is up...not too sure what to replace it with.

Bought my '03 Z06 new...I've had very few problems with it. Drivers side power window stopped working, rear diff leak and my alternator took a dump, but I think that was caused by a bad Optima battery.
All items were covered by warranty.

The nylon gear in my drivers side headlight motor stripped in one spot. It was easily replaced with one of Rodney Dickman's brass ones. Of course I have only had the car a couple months.

The passenger side window fell off its track and down into the door on my 2003 the second day I owned it. Since then its been trouble free.

I bought my '02 Z06 in September 2005 from a private party, and it came with a full service warranty and an extended factory warranty until the end of 2008. Up to this point I have had ZERO problems with the car at 36k miles, and with the service warranty I have been able to get free oil changes every 4 months and a coolant system flush. I have modded the car so much that I guess things don't have a chance to break!

Water pump failures are normal maint items, in my opinion. At least it was, 30 or 40 years ago. Maybe not so much today.

My 2002 hasn't had any mechanical problems, but it's still under GMPP extended warranty for 2 more years.

I know I have a bunch of problems just lurking in the shadows, waiting for the day the warranty expires though.

My EBCM needs to be replaced, had the oil valley cover replaced under warranty and the steering lock column bypass done under the recall.

I have had mo 03 Z for a little over 2yrs now. It is a daily driver, I got it with 1,400 miles on it , and now it has 25k
Dealer said the colunm lock thing had already been taken car of when I got it, only problem I can report is replacing the battery as it was starting to have issues this last winter, had some clutch issues that have been solved with Rangers fluid monitoring method (unfortunately may have other driveline issues for having found this out a bit late)
Been through 2 sets of rear tires
Had the alarm go off 2 times for no aparent reason.
I have to say this has been by far the best car I have ever owned.
The biggest problem I have ever had with it is either a toss up between lack of traction and all the nights I couldn't get to sleep because I'm thinking about all the things I want to buy for it...

One day I just might find a woman that rides this good, is this comfortable, gets my adrenaline pumping like this, and occupies at least 1/3 of my daily thought process the way this car does..........and when I do I think I'll be getting married.............................of course she'll have to be as sexy too!!!
