Video--11.55 117.69 Pass 2002 Z06 CAI & DRs
I've edited this video from 2002 and uploaded it to YouTube.
It remains the only perfect pass I've ever driven. Density Altitude was 1200'.
The splits were:
60'..............1.647
330'............4.814
660'............7.419 @ 93.24
1000'..........9.663
1320'........11.556 @ 117.69
Shift points were clutch-in at 6500+.
Tires were BFG 315.35.17 drag radials, same tire I'm now running on my 2006 Z06.
It took me 150 more passes and much better weather to finally beat that pass, and it was by the slimmest margin of .03 seconds.
Car dynoed 363 rwhp and 350 rwtq with the CAI installed. So the power was unexceptional. But it was and remains a fast, reliable car by any measure.
It gave me 30K street miles as a daily driver and 350 passes at the drags without breakage. And the car is now giving good service to its third owner.
Clutch pedal never acted up either, due to my fluid changing protocol.

Ranger,
..Amazing numbers!! The most impressive thing watching that run is that it looked so easy....which of course it wasn't. It shows how important getting a good hookup and keeping it perfectly straight and smooth can be.

Thanks for the generous words, guys.
Hi Jeff, the smoothness of that pass comes from very fast shifting. Studying the video frame by frame I can discern the 1-2 shift during which the nose dropped a couple inches, but the nose stay pretty much up on the 2-3 and 3-4. The 3-4 can be heard clearly, though it sounds like an automatic.
Shift speed and accuracy derive from my doing a lot of shift drills with the motor off. Here is the procedure.

Be sure and include some interior video shots of your foot/hand action during 1/4 runs on upcoming DVD.

I dunno. As much as this impresses me, between the soundtrack (hear the near-car pretty much only) watching the car here, and seeing the slip, it's looking like an auto car. I've been to the track as well where people have given me the "compliment": "that sounds like an automatic going down the track". But honestly, this one sounds like an auto swap.
Luckily, I've seen your runs where you can tell it's a manual car and I know you can drive.

Camcorder guy was at positioned off-axis between the 330' and 660' timers. So when I passed by, the mic got a good blast from the stock Z06 titanium exhaust with the LS6 at full song. That's a perspective that is not often captured on video.
