OK.....not too long ago the "magic" number was $3.00 per gallon. This was supposed to be the psychological barrier that would make everyone change their driving habits. Well, we have blown right by that number
So, the pundits are predicting $4 per gallon by Memorial Day in some areas. Will this be the number that changes your lifestyle?
Just think.......20 gallons x $4 per gallon............

nope
10 years ago I moved to England.
It was $4/gallon then for regular.
didn't stop me driving.
fast forward 10 years... It is only $3.58 for premium and my Vette gets more miles per gallon than what I was driving 10 years ago....
I suspect you are whinging!

Filled up the Silverado today, $88.45 at $3.48/gal regular. Typical fill-up for the vette (15 gallons) would be $60 at $4/gal. fortunately "only" $3.69/gal now). I'd rather drive the vette than the Silverado!!! Now if regular goes to $4/gal then the Silverado definitely sits at home while the vette gets driven more even at $5/gal. If I gotta' pay these prices might as well enjoy the drive

While it hurts to pay $3.65 to 3.75 for premium, we have had this Memorial Day Corvette trip planned for over a year. I refuse to let the price of gas stop us. But it still pi es me off!

Like anyone else, I hate high gas prices. However, when it comes down to it, as far as I am concerned, this is cost of ownership and it in no way stops me from driving her.

it has little effect on the Corvette - but it does effect the motorhome - couple hundred bucks to fill it up - 7 1/2 MPG but it won't slow us up to much - i was retired - went back to work part time - all the money from the part time job goes into an account for Gas - toys - travel etc.

I did buy a Saturn that gets 30 mpg to replace the vette as a daily driver.
But i didn't because of the price of gas. With 48,000 miles on the vette in three years i felt it was time.

Pause...? Yeah, pause long enough to give them a finger!
They raise the prices anytime they what and for any reason they want (reasonable, good or just plain old "no f**king reason"). And they know ... there is nothing we can do about it - They have been sticking it to us for years and it's so sad we just gotten use to it and pay them outrageous prices.
