Default Anyone with an aftermarket steering wheel?

Let's see some pics. Not really worried about having an airbag, so I'd like to ditch the hula-hoop.

Also how hard was the swap? I'm guessing it should be pretty straight forward

Your going to need a special tool to pull that wheel. Some come off easy-some come off hard. I had one of the hard ones. It was a bear getting off.

It's been on there since the day I brought the car home brand new in March of '99. Easy swap, turn signals and horn work as they should.

Looks good, too bad you can't tell how fast you are going between 40 and 180mph.

If you go this route - kiss your insurance (injury - personal) good- by

If you are in an accident, and sustain injuries, because of this "mod" you'll likely find yourself paying medical bills.

Nothings worth giving your insurance company reasons to deny claims.

C6 wheel will not fit. Its hub has a different teeth-count than a C5. That being said, I think it's possible to swap in a C6 steering COLUMN on a C5, since it's apparently only the wheel-end spline that is different, in which case you could use a C6 wheel. I don't know if the C5 steering position sensor would work. I'm contemplating attempting this so I can use Caravaggio's C6 wheel with C6 airbag... I need to get wiring diagrams first to see if it's feasible.

Momo wheels will fit with the proper hub kit. Several people here have gone that route, including EnglandGreen. Momo does have some beautiful steering wheels. If I abandon the Caravaggio C6 idea, I'll be going with a Momo.

I think you will find that most people here value their life and face more than a few interior style points.

Personally i don't think the C6 wheel is anything great. To be honest i prefer the C5 wheel to it. The only thing i like about it are the flags in the center and thats it. To me its not worth the expense/hassle of retrofitting a C6 wheel to a C5 just for that.

Good luck w/ your decision/rsearch regardless.

Yeah, that seatbelt thing you wear will almost always keep your face out of the steering wheel The C6 wheel might not be great, but it isn't hula-hoop sized either.
