Default Callaway uses LS6 in its new C16 model

Thought it was interesting that Callaway didn't use the LS2 or the LS7 to power their new C16 model. The article I read in Corvette Magazine stated that they supercharged the LS6 motor because Reeves decided it would be more durable than the LS7 without having to perform internal mods. Wierd, huh? BTW its pushing out 616 hp & 562 LBS-FT.

Way bad typos here guys. We didn't have a chance to proof read this article. I don't know how they got the idea that we use LS6's. These cars have LS2's. And we're working on an LS7 version to compete with the new Blue Devil/SS.

Wow! That's some seriously bad journalism. This is my first issue of the magazine and the article talks in specifics why Reeves chooses the LS6. Obviously this is not true. I make an a$$ out of myself enough on my own and don't need a magazine to help even more in this dept. I think I'll cancel my subscription.

Didn't anyone ever tell you to not believe everything you read?

No offense to Callaway, I think they have built some very fine corvettes. But this one kinda reminds me of a Chrysler Sebring.

take a look at their prices for products--i think they're still trying to recover all of that r&d they spent on the c4...

ever see the discovery channel (or whatever channel it was) that was a documentary on famous sports cars a couple of years back? very facinating segment on callaway, especially on handling and their racing programs in the c4. seems like a team of brilliant engineers up there over yonder...

but i'd venture a guess they're getting their clocks cleaned by the reputable vette tuners throughout the country. lingenfelter, a&a, 21st century, vette doctors, etc. etc., plus the ability for knowledgable consumers to buy go-fast parts direct from the mfgr.

Are you kidding!? I love it! Take a look at the magazine photos on this. just ignore anything they write appearantly. but the design is amazing, IMHO. Very clean lines and a luxurious interior. If I had the cash...Id buy. And I dont think you could do it yourself at all, let alone for the money. sure you can add a turbo and some other go fast parts and get the smame power but with the C16 it looks like you get a whole lot more for your $$$. Great Job

I think my mom did once, but that was when I was a kid and she caught me with a Penthouse. But at the time I wasn't really reading

I guess I thought I could trust Corvette Magazine to state accurate facts about Corvettes. My Bad!

To each his own; I think it's the way the C6 should have looked, well, maybe except for the flying buttresses which remind me of the Maserati Merak (although I also think that's a particularly poor picture of the car and does it a disservice). Nice, smooth, flowing lines - not a lot of sharp creases and angular lines; the C6 looks like it was designed by someone who does origami for a living. But then again, the C6 was from the same man who gave us the Pontiac Aztek (lots of weird angles there - anyone else seeing a theme?)

Oh yea, back on point, what a journalistic blunder!! They better be doing a correction in all capital letters in the next issue.

Very interesting. Looks absolutely nothing like the C6 - which is a VERY good thing.

Dear MCV (aka Callaway and friends,)

I have thoroughly looked over your posted pictures of the new C16 and have decided I will let you provide me with one to drive as an advertising strategy for your company. As there are many affluent people in my surrounding area I'm sure my driving it frequently would be very good for your business. I will also allow you to exchange the car you provide me with for any new updated model or prototype to ensure your latest offerings are fully advertised as well.

Thank you for the opportunity in this mutual business arrangement,
C5Z

Reminds me of a stretch out 699 but that is a good looking car as well.
