Anyone ever had a quote. I was considering getting a new engine how much do you think it would cost including the installation?

The total invoice for a dealer installed LS1 crate moter last year was $7000. The good thing is you get a 36 month 100,000 mile warranty.

Just had it done in October. Engine blew the crank out.

Are you ready $8705.15

Thank god for GMPP.. Cost me $30.

Also now a 5 year 100K on engine.

Search for my post and you'll see a few good pictures of what the LS1 can do to itself.

Why would you bother with a stock replacement when there are so many better aftermarket alternatives?

GMPP = General Motors Protection Plan, correct?

I agree with Mike94. There are so many choices, why do you want a stock replacement?

Because that's what GMPP is going to put back in if you want to keep your warranty!

I could have had a heck of a C5 for that kind of money.

But $8k plus out of my pocket compared to $30.

No contest.

Not only that, but that is what is going to go back since they are flipping the bill! You want something else, then the bill is all yours.
