Here's a run I did in January at Lagua Seca. Large file, 3 laps.

I get passed and point-by all types of cars. Fun stuff is running them down again and that usually happens. I tend to start out slow the first two laps, then give it what I can. I agree with AN U EGL about learning different areas as well.

C5R vid is wild!!!
Man that C5R video is wild at Le Mans. Can you imagine those speeds at night in the rain!!!
The VIR video is also very good. That Z06 you are chasing is for sale if I am not mistaken. I have seen it on several sites, with those purple stripes. I have tons of videos for my racing in 02 &03 but they are all in a mustang ( AI 94 cobra 331 stroker 355rwhp ). I think VIR is a very classy place and a great safe place to learn!!!

Here is a video I made in August 2004 at Watkins Glen. I am in my TR 03Z and the car ahead of me is James Walker (of StopTech Fame) in his TR 04Z.

Don't know who was in front of you (Red C5), but their lines were way off. They were going too wide and making jerky reactions. Usually instructors teach novice students to go wide and early for safety reasons, but this is not the fastest way around the track.

Over the years I have been passed many times by many different types of cars. Driver skill has a lot to do with how many times you have been passed but as I run with instructor groups now it also turns out the car makes quite a difference. I have been on the track with Ferrari IMSA cars, Busch North Series cars, Craftsman Truck series trucks and something that sort of looked like a Lotus but had an Ls6 engine it. When you hear them coming you just give them room and don't bother lifting when they pass since it doesn't make any difference.
