Default Z06ers If Chevy asked you "what would you do different to the Z06"

What would you boys like to see different from the FACTORY on all Z06's. IMHO: 18's at all four corners,1 1/2 to 2" lower than Coupe and Convert. Better paint quality on ALL C5's.Power antenna.Polished Z06 Wheels!! Not painted!!Bigger Exhaust tips. Larger brake rotors.Cross drilled and slotted brake rotors.Raised hood like the one from RK Sport. Tubular Headers.NOT MANIFOLDS!!! A FACTORY LIGHTWIEGHT PARTITION!! Sorry Andy.Compartment covers in trunk. I mean how much can they weigh! And a better shifter.

more power and an engine that doesn't consume oil.

I think they should put the old aluminum 427 ZL1 back in it. Bore and stroke it to 572. Make the car sit lower. Put the magnesium wheels back on. RKSport's or Mid America's big block hood. Better shifter, bigger rotors that are crossdrilled and slotted. Have the ZO6 emblems as an option so you can make it look like a sleeper. Thats all I can think of right now.

It needs an engine oil cooler and a transmission cooler. This probably could be done for the price of the HUD.

In general I agree with jackhammer. A better shifter. Larger cross drilled and sloted brake rotors. Tubular headers and larger exhaust tips. A factory lightweight partition. And most of all a removeable "Targa" roof panel.

I understand the need for the fixed roof, but you could still get the body stiffness if they installed a retractable sunroof. They could use one like my old 1996 Prelude had that slid up and away from the car, not into it.

I agree with Jackhammer, except don't lower it. Also: more power, better shifter, and fix the wheel-hop problem in the suspension.

the ZO6 would be so sweet with the all aluminum ZL1 427 Rat. It's there for the taking too. The Vette is so much nicer with a Rat rather than a Mouse. :D

Less fufu, more gogo. Delete (or have an option to delete) stuff like, power windows, powerseat, no A/C. Have cloth seats or a race seat option (similar to Porsche). 427 small block (like LPE). Coil over adjustible shocks. Big brakes (I.E. bigger rotors, not cross drilled though, bigger callipers). T1 suspension as an option. I know this is a pipe dream, but you asked . :chevy

First off I LOOOOVVVVVVEEE MY CAR :D

1. Better seats, a true sport seat with much better leather.
2. Tranny and diff coolers standard
3. Bullit proof brakes ,finish the front brake ducts all the way to discs
4. Better paint ,smaller body gaps
5. Some real headlights maybe HID, anything better than stock
6. 18in or 19in wheels with a 315 out back like the Zr1
7. No wheel hop
8. Better shifter and ****
9. More power would be always welcome
10. Reduce the curb weight maybe 3000lbs
11. 7000rpm
12. Real header type manifolds maybe titanium

That about does it ..... :seeya

More power, choice of all exterior colors and interiors, better wheels highly polished, 345 wide back tires.

Targa top and hatchback and I'd be there in a split second....provided that the oil consumption problem is really fixed.

I agree Fix the stuff that is just wrong with the Z06:

Fix:
Trans cooling
Diff Cooling
Engine Oil cooling
Engine Oil consumption
High speed float, nose dive under braking and squat under acceleration
Use decent quality brake rotors and pads (no need for slotted or cross drilled unless your a major poser)

Other things on the "would be nice" list:

Spare tire
compartment covers
rear partition
three spoke steering wheel with an emblem in it (pressed plastic is just cheap)
move the parking brake away from passenger seat
put a decent shift **** in the car
Aluminum throttle to match brake and clutch

Corvette team at GM are you listening?

My $.03

Use DOT4 brake fluid (factory stuff is crap)
tougher clutch
better seats with decent quality leather
Replace PlaySkool radio and climate controls with something that looks like it should be in a $45k car.

I would have made more cosmetic changes to set it apart from a standard Vette. Maybe a nice higher cowl hood like the RK Sport unit. Just a few more cosmetic changes.
