Default Opinions please. High miles on engine cost to replace?

I was wondering what it would cost approximately for installation of a used corvette engine ls1 for a 2001 c5 and where this can be done? How much for the engine with like maybe 20-30k miles and the cost to install it?

My bill came to $10,260 for getting my LS6 replaced with another factory new LS6. It was done through the dealer.

I'm not sure why you'd want a used engine ... unless you know its history. You may be installing something that could have serious problems already.

You can get a new crate engine (LS1) (Part #17801267) from GM for around $4,900.00 or an LS6 (Part #17801268) for about $6,500.00 ...

Remaining cost would be things like new radiator hoses and engine mounts (assuming they are needed) and labor. Labor is gonna depend on where you get it done. Probably the best way to find a good place would be to post in the regional forum and see if someone near you can give you a recommendation.
