I had the Black C-6-Z-06 rims with the machined face on the wifes Black 98 convt. and the vette looked Great. You definitly don't want to go solid Black.
Sorry to say, I sold the C-5 last month as I am picking up another Mid Year. A BB, 4spd, 65 coupe.

I love the sinister look. I was thinking polished lip, but IMO the black lip makes the rim look larger... These on mine are stock size 17/18 and next to a polished lip 17/18 they look larger (optical delusion :P).

I don't like all black wheels because none of the details of the wheels show up.
Chrome makes the car look more for show, and less serious about performance. I don't know why so many people cannot wait to trade their stock wheels for chrome.
I will always stay with the stock Z06 wheels.... they make the car look like a serious performance car without all the bling.

I have been hoping my entire life that the chrome fad would go away, but that hasnt happened yet. So I dont think the black wheel look is going away anytime soon.

Love black wheels I have the the Motorsports now but I'm going back to the smaller thin spokes for weight savings I had the stock chromes and I hate chrome! Black wheel lover here
Getting these next and going back to factory sizes
Does anyone know the actual weight on these??? and if they are safe to run I have heard even the o.e.m ones were known to crack

I like black rims, but have better areas to put my money right now. Got the stock ones powdercoated...cost $240 including dismount/remount & balance. Still trying to decide if I want to paint the center caps.

Just my opinion but, I think all black rims look like crap; I don't care for the "sinister" look. If I'm going to modify my car I'm doing it to make it stand out as something different that appeals to me.
These "sinister" cars all look the same; how much thought does it take to black everything out?
Everyone's entitled to their opinion and can do whatever they like with their cars; for me the black rim / sinister look is not something I'd do.
