Default (PICS) The Z06 Paint Project begins.

Well, the car is getting torn down, and I promised I'd post pics as it was getting done!! The windshield's getting replaced, so it's not coming out till it's ready for paint. Plus, she's getting all new moldings/emblems & weatherstripping. The exhaust is off the car (Sold), and the wheels are coming home with me in about a week.

Tomorrow morning I'll grab some more shots, because since taking these, the doors are off the car.

Some pretty exciting stuff though!!!

Before:

Old (Damaged) hood

New hood

I'll update the thread with new pictures when ever I take them, but I plan on stopping by the shop every couple of days.

It is, I can't wait. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

This shop has had a reputation for the past 20 years for being a bit pricey, but they've always produced show quality work. In fact, they've helped me win many shows in past vehicles, so I KNOW how this is going to turn out. They aren't leaving a single stone un-turned, and they know I don't want any corners cut.

The pictures tomorrow should be interesting - I can't picture the car with no doors

I keep telling myself --- Self, think LONG TERM!!!

No secret. It's going to be VERY close to Electron Blue.

I'll try to take a picture of the color chip tomorrow.

No doubt there. Although, next the interior's coming out. When this thing gets prepped, it's going to be VERY thorough.

Have them paint the fuel rail covers to match.

The doors are now off. EVERYTHING is out of the doors. They are a bare plastic shell. The interior is coming 100% out today, and the entire INTERIOR SHELL of the car will be sprayed. This is amazing... They are doing an incredible job.
