Auto or 6spd - do you even hear the starter engage (any clicking sound) - pull the codes to see if any are being thrown....

What do you mean you kinda drove in the rain? You either did or you didn't. Did you drive through any deep puddles? Did the D.I.C. pop up with any indicators there might be a problem? Have you consulted the owners manual? If its the original battery I would suspect it has gone bad and doesn't have the cranking amps to even pull in the solinoid.
Have you tried jumping it?

Sounds like the problem I had with the dirty key resistor. Is the security light staying on?

what i meant by KINDA driving thru rain was that it rained and it was wet outisde, and i did hit a puddle. (small one) and im about to jump it, but im thinking if i should jsut replace the battery....

ummm.....this is odd..i went to check if it would start...and it STARTED

after i locked it/unlocked it....

So it started normally? Interesting... You can try using an eraser on the resister that is on the key. It will clean it up and possibly that is your problem. Worth a shot. Good Luck!

Default ttt

i would say if you have the stock battery in there still, take it out, as many problems can arise from it. Put in a red top or yellow top optima .. get a full charge at any auto zone or jiffy lube .. . or any good mechanic and you should be good.

i had some what of the same problem and i thought it was my alternator . but after a full charge the problem has not come back since.
fyi . just my two cents.

good luck
peace !

since it's an Auto, I would wonder if the interlock switch on the tranny may be causing this - by interlock, I mean the switch that makes sure you're in park before you can start it.

If it were the battery I would expect that you would hear clicking if the voltage was weak, and I would not expect that it would suddenly start just fine....

Default Charge

When you start the car in teh past, did the display show "charge system fault". If so, its the battery. I also have a 01 and not to long ago the same problem happened to me. Everything would turn on except for the engine. I but a new battery and presto, it fired right up.

Dump the codes ... there are a million reasons why it won't start .... the code(s) will cut that down to about 10 ......
