You don't have to be a cop for that, just know a good lawyer (they can be expensive, but worth it to keep your record clean)
At least that way the money you fork out goes into the hands of a private citizen rather than going to the county to **** it away...

I sense a $5it load of ignorance from a couple of misguided youths.
Every profession has their quacks, none more than others on average.
I'm glad you got a ticket, he should have given you more.

Let me guess, if someone had broken into your home and was harming a family member, you'd expect the police officers to obey the speed limit because otherwise they'd be breaking the laws they're sworn to uphold? Oh, wait a second. Now it's okay because they're helping you and not giving you a ticket.

did someone say "cops fight crime"??? I'm laughing my *** off at that statement. Can't you just picture all of our courageous policemen out there making the world a safer place <sarcasm

sorry about your ticket. Everyone needs to vent though.
There isn't a favorable chance in getting out of 10 over... in a vette... being a younger male. You're screwed. The minute he saw you he knew he was gonna write you that ticket. Gotta keep it at 9 over.

Now the hard part is not getting arrested for protecting myself in my own home, cause some ***** decided to break in and violate my family or property.

Well, you know it's just possible the cop was the biggest dick on the face of this planet...
Now, of course, it's just possible that he was jealous of you owning a Corvette. After all, a new Toyota Camry or a Honda Civic can nowadays cost you more than a second hand early C5, so if the cop couldn't afford a Honda or a Toyota, of course he might just be jealous of you owning a Chevy.
Then again, I suppose it's possible that he was just miffed because you were a young male. Of course, if you're left handed, have two different coloured eyes, or wear odd shoe sizes, he could also have "profiled" you too, couldn't he?
But let me ask you this and I realise it may sound crazy, even unlikely.
Leaving aside the traditional straw man arguments and pointless rationalisations, is there by any chance, even a remote one, a possibility that you got your ticket simply because you were exceeding the posted speed limit?

oh... yea. You need the hard drive to set up a Live account. Let me assure you. It's the most fun you've ever had with a video game. Remember those nights of doom? It's like that but 4 on 4. Everyone's connected to a headset setting up tactics or talking crap. I can't quit playing it.

If your going speed, buy a radar detector, it's that simple.
I travel all of the time and I always carry my escort 8500 where ever I go.
Hence, I have no speeding tickets.
