Used to use tropi-care, but I think I'll be switching to Zaino.

I use Menserna (sp?). The stuff keeps sudsing and sudsing and cleans with no residue. I used to use Mother's California Gold but it always left a filmy residue.

I use Turtle Zip-Wax Car Wash. Leaves a nice shine over my NXT wax job.

Why are you switching? If you have any problems with tropi-care ask me.

After she does the laundry and cooks dinner and puts the kid to bed I'll ask her. I don't want to interupt her while she's busy. After all she had to get a five a.m. to go to work too. What kind of monster do you take me for?

Anyone who has only washed their car twice in 29k miles would be embarrassed to park their car next to someone who details it like it should be. If you truly think your "2 wash-29kmile" car looks good, you are in la la land.

I use the Duragloss products and I'm quite happy with them. I use their car wash soap. Their products aren't a wax, they're a polymer. I use the base enhancer first. Does not require buffing. Then their fiberglass polish/sealer on top of it. Brings the color right out and last a lot longer than wax. Don't need an electric buffer. This stuff comes off easy and I do it by hand.

I use the Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash. It won't strip off wax, and smells good too.

He is right. You NEED soap to remove the dirt. Water alone will not do that. If you think your car magicly wards off dirt its time to wake up out of fantasy land. And putting a cover on a car that has dirt on in is a big no-no.

For the record I use Zaino. Works good. I'm sure Adam's and many others are very good as well.

here is my terrible embarrassing looking car thats only been washed twice (of course its never been drivin in the rain etc, so its not hard to keep it clean) and last time out got a 1st place trophy against 17 other c5's and a few of them guys pissed off because they spent 3 hours at the show detailing their vette and I pulled in after driving it 75 miles and just did a quick 10 minute wipe down with Adams detail spray and got some bugs off the front. You dont need to spend hours detaling a car to make it look good, I just spray it quickly with Adams detail spray every couple weeks as needed (takes 10 mins), then Butter Wax it afterwards (takes 30 mins) once every couple months.
Show me again where that la la land is please.

This is the same argument that says you have to change your oil every 3,000 miles.
If your car gets that dirty and prefer to use soap on your car, go for it!
I built two street driven, full frame off, highly modified $50,000+ tri five Chevies in 10 years. Both won more $3.98 plastic trophies than I had room for and neither were ever washed with soap. My '55 210 sedan was a featured magazine car (CHEVY CLASSICS by PRIMEDIA).
