Default problem with trunk release...

Just wondering if anybody else has experienced this and what the cause of the problem was?...

The trunk on my C5 is not opening... I hit the trunk release button either on the remote or inside the car, and it doesn't open. I've taken it to the dealer twice for this and each time they've said it should be fixed, but it's still occuring off and on.

For some reason, you might get more responses if you filled out some kind of profile...not sure why though

Happened to me twice, but the car was outside in a hotel parking lot and it was 32 degrees when I tried it. Hasn't happened since.

I went through this. What is happening is that the release is working. You can hear it activate but the catch isn't retracting quickly enough so the lid doesn't pop up like it should. So lube the area that houses the catch. I used WD-40 and later lithium grease. It pops up great now and it's been a couple of years now. Let us know how it goes. Or if I wasn't clear enough with the description I'll try again.
