Default GM Parts Direct vs. Fred Beans

Good grief here is my experience. I tried ordering for the last two days a door control module from the GM Parts Direct website. My online order kept getting cancelled with the statment "my credit card address did not match my billing address". Well the fact is they are the same, always have been. I tried two other cards and came up with the same issue. Very frustrating, if you call them they just route you back to email.

Gave up and called Fred Beans, actually got to talk to someone. Part was ordered using the same credit card, no problems.

Thank you Fred Beans

I had the same issue with Tire rack a few years back.

It has to match exactly as the credit cards company info has or it is rejected.

Yeah, I checked it with my CC company, still no worky. I do a lot of online transactions but I do not like using companoes that have no phone support.

Just ordered some goodies from GM Parts Direct and they arrived quickly, in good order and were way cheaper than others. Sorry about your Credit Card Problems. I agree with you though, it is much better to actually talk to a human being when ordering

I have ordered from GMpartsdirect and was very pleased. I also just ordered a new keyless remote from forum vendor Fitchner Chevrolet which had the lowest price of anyone. I highly recommend Fitchner along with Beans and GMpartsdirect.

I had to get a conference call happening to resolve my issue between the tire rack, Visa and myself.

I emailed both Fitchner and Beans a few days ago asking for a price on a part (couldn't find the part listed on their websites). Haven't heard a peep from either of them. Have they both closed down for some big secret GM convention or something? Maybe in mourning over the demise of the big Nissan/Renault deal?

I had an issue with Fitchner years ago which I ultimately had to bring to the forum to get my issue resolved. While I appreciate that they ended up making things right in the end, they lost all my future business (probably 25k++ since then on GM parts). GMPD can be a good source occasionally, and I've never had a problem when I ordered from them, but FRED BEANS TAKES THE CAKE on this one. They are truly outstanding from start to finish on an order and they've had the majority of my GM parts business for the last 2 years.

to them

Both are good. Gene seems a little cheaper tho.

And Gene is a great guy.

Fitchner just sold me the extended warranty for my Vette, sold me the extended warranty for my Yukon and other various and sundry GM parts - absolutely hassle free. Those Fitchner guys take excellent care of their customers - especially when they know you're a Forum member.

Hi All,
I'd like to thank you for your comments and your support. We will meet or beat any other price from any other GM dealer as long as we're able to verify that price.

I would like to say that selling parts is not really just my job, but it is my passion. I like what I do and I like to take care of people.

I do know quite a few of the screen names in this thread by their real names so that tells you that they do what they say they do.

Most importantly, I thank you all for your business. If I haven't had the chance yet to earn your business, I'd like to be presented with the opportunity to earn your business.

Thank you,
Gene

I thought you were asking for opinions when I read your title - I was going with Fred Beans hands down - much better than GM Direct
