Got A ??
i have a c4 (1993) vette..and i want to get a 98 or a 99...can someone help me out with the difference? or opinion on which one to get? Which one has lesser problems? can someone give me some facts/opinions on which year is a better fit?

you should always stay with the higher year a 99 is easier to take the torque management out when you tune it but stay away from the 01 they had oil consumption problems

Get the newest one you can. There is a lot of difference in the 99 I had, and the 04 I now have. All for the better, except for the automatic AC system. I liked the manual AC better, that I had on the 99.

If you can swing it, get the '99. The HUD was an option as well as active handling being more readily available as on option on that year.

Hi CDaC493-
Either would be good, as the C5's had very little of the "first year" startup problems that prior generations had.
That said, the 99 had some additional options made available, like HUD etc.
We have a 99 and it has been a great car for the two years we have had it.
best regards -
