John Lingenfelter hall of fame induction - 9/1/06
Hello all,
Just a reminder that the Corvette Hall of Fame will be inducting a few new members this year, including our company founder, and friend, John Lingenfelter.
The ceremony will be held at Friday nights banquet, and should be a very exciting event to attend.
Anyone who knew John, would know that he probably wouldn't want all of the fuss, but I for one can't think of a more deserving person to recieve this ultimate recognition for his contributions to the Corvette.
The 2006 inductees are:
Dave Hill - Retired Chief Engineer for Corvette
Gary Mortimer - One of the founding members of the NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society)
John Lingenfelter - Longtime Corvette Performance engineer and racer
Anybody already planning to attend the festivities on Bowling Green this weekend, should definately try to be on hand for this very special occasion. HEre is a link to all of the weekends festivities:

I never had the honor or pleasure of meeting John. He was a giant in the high performance world, and his influence still carries on.
When I think of high performance GM engines - Lingenfelter is the first name that comes to my mind.

Note that John and Kerri Page (Lingenfelter), along with other members of the Lingenfelter family will also be attending.
Sure wish I could go.
Congratualtions to one and all

Nice to see John being honored for all his hard work and innovations. I had the pleasure of speaking with him once when he was racing in the Pro Stock Truck class at the National event at Sears Point Raceway (now Infineon). Very cordial and open to answering questions, and sure knew how to make a SBC sing a sweet song. Congrads to all family, friends, and employees.

Ed - are you attending?
If so, can you post pictures of Kerri making the presentation (I know John will forget his camera )?

Sorry Dennis, but I have to stay home and work. Several people from LPE as well as John & Kerri will be on hand, I think Charlie Lingenfelter(JL's brother) will be there as well. Hopefully someone will take some pics, if so I will post them up.
Thanks for all of the kind words, I'm sure JL would be proud,
Ed
