NEW PRODUCT!….Elite Engineering’s “Thermal-Abs” Tunnel Plate
Does your console get HOT?
As many of you know, we have been working on a product to compliment our popular Tunnel Reinforcement Plates to dramatically reduce the amount of heat transfer into the central tunnel to keep the cabin area cooler.
Our solution, the new “Thermal-Abs”; a composite-fiberboard and aluminum heat shield.
We start with our most popular 1/4” thick aluminum ceramic-coated tunnel plate. Originally designed to add stiffness to the C5 and C6 chassis, remarkably this plate alone has shown temperature-reducing qualities of 64F degrees on the C5 and 29F degrees on the C6 when compared to the stock tunnel plate.
To further reduce the radiated heat, we permanently bond our new “Thermal-Abs” shielding to the underside of our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates. The result is extraordinary.
With the combined Tunnel Plate AND Thermal-Abs, we were consistently dropping the temperatures at the central tunnel by as much as 95 degrees on a C5 and 54 degrees on a C6 when compared to the stock OEM tunnel plates.
This is the best of both worlds. All the stiffening benefits that made our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates a popular mod. and now unparalleled heat shielding with our new “Thermal-Abs”.

If you’re changing your exhaust, now is the time to upgrade to our new “Thermal-Abs”
Installation is simple. Instructions can be viewed and downloaded at:

Yes, if we receive enough interest, we will offer the "skin" only. Selling price will be about $135.00. It can be attached to any stock OEM tunnel plate or one of our Tunnel Reinforcement Plates. It is help in place by a very aggressive adhesive, once stuck, it cannot be removed.
With that said, it is almost impossible to install the skin on an existing plate without removing the center section of the exhaust.

Nice addition to your product line. That's a significant reduction in temp.

You can, I'm just a little concerned about the clearance. It gets a little tight.

That is pretty much what is on my car. I bought the thermal coated tunnel plate and covered the interior side with an aluminum/ceramic material that is used for aircraft engine insulation. I will vouch that the interior temperatures are vastly better! My console has not been hot to the touch in over two years, even in 100 deg. weather (of course it won't do squat to keep the car from heating up from the sun .

I have my whole exhaust out and tunnel plate out right now getting ready to go to the shop for some turbo x black ceramic coating.
Please be honest... will getting the tunnel plate coated in a black ceramic coat be as effective as the pad?
