Default What do you want in a PCV Catch Can?

About six months ago I had promised EnglandGreen (aka Grond) I would design and sell an affordable PCV Catch Can. Well we have almost finished all our testing and before we went into full production, I wanted to see if there is anything specific the CF members would like to see. Obviously price is always an issue, and I feel we have addressed that.

One thing we have concluded from our testing and design is the location of the exit tube is insignificant to the performance or filtering.

Does the CF have a preference on where the Exit tube is located (i.e. Top of can, side of can)?

Let me know any other suggestions and we will try to get them addresses before we commence full production.

Thanks for your suggestions,

Jeff

I would think that any catch can would have to have entry and exit holes at the top, just as any coalescing filter does - see

http://www.wilkersoncorp.com/9EM-TK-190/9EM-M12.pdf

This may be the ultimate filter, but let me tell you, they "aint" cheap!

Hi Dave,

Thanks, our concept is similar. We actully looked at a coalescing filter during our design.

Jeff - Thanks for working on this and keeping it price competitive. I've been holding off buying one until you announced yours and gave details.

Based on my understanding of how the "cans" work, I would also suspect the holes would need to be at the top.

When do you think you'll be releasing yours? Need any Beta volunteers?.......

Check valves to keep it under vacuum, even when the car is under boost.

cool graphix imported from japan?

..

i'd prefer it to be on the top but have a removable lid, so you wouldnt have to unclamp the hoses when draining or checking the levels .. would it be possible to get a clear strip (similar to that of a quart of oil container) put on the side?

As recent purchaser of the AMW catch can, what i would like to see in a competing product is a lower price ($180 is ) and BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE (which i'm sure just about anyone could provide in comparison).

I think a catch can that works like it should at a reasonable price would be great. How soon until you start offering them for sale?

If anyone can do it, Jeff can and not at the Corvette tax price either. You can also bank on the fact that it will be a quality piece.
