Would you suggest that it be mounted as far as possible above that to make it easier to unscrew and remove the can cylinder?

Yes, and there is plenty of room in the slots to mount the can so the bottom can be removed when necessary.

It's in...again about 15 minutes...the black really looks OEM.

The tubing really has a nice snug fit. Really wonder if we really need to put the tube clamps on...the short tube removed for the install doesn't have any clamps.

Yeah, I think the clamps are a little overkill and probably not required. However, I was trying to avoid the question "why didn't you include any clamps".

Guys with the 2001 to 2003 LS6s with external PCV valves ... how is the short tube adaptor working out for the Catch Can hose to PCV valve connection?

Edit - I just got my kit today (9-26) and realized I need to make a minor change in the installation procedures. On the LS6, after you use the 1” long stainless steel "splice tube" to connect the Catch Can's outlet hose (coming off the side) to the OEM PCV valve assy, slide the spring clamp so it's centered over where the two tubes meet. That way the clamp holds both pieces to the spice tube. I'm sure most of you saw that when you installed the Catch Can on your LS6s.

Got mine Friday, installed in Saturday morning. Very well made and the kit comes with everything you need for the install. I have the clear aluminum and it looks fantastic. Great job Elite.

Installed mine a couple of weeks ago. Just checked it after putting 1000 miles on car. 710 of that on trip to Eureka springs. Just went out and checked and i'd guess about 1/16 of inch in bottom of can.

Mines a 2004 so that's oil that didn't go into the combustion chamber.

Thanks elite!!! I showed a lot of folks the Elite Catch Can add on this weekend in Eureka Springs.

Yes, we have measured everything from a small amount of oil to a few tablespoons.

The next batch of Catch Cans are in the final machining process. The brackets, diffusers, and tops are done. We are finishing the bottoms and will anodize and ship immediately after.

Thanks for your patience

Obviously price is always an issue, and I feel we have addressed that.

One thing we have concluded from our testing and design is the location of the exit tube is insignificant to the performance or filtering.

Does the CF have a preference on where the Exit tube is located (i.e. Top of can, side of can)?

Let me know any other suggestions and we will try to get them addresses before we commence full production.

Thanks for your suggestions,

Jeff

I know I'm a little late for suggestions. But how about a catch can that can automatically drain the oil back into the engine after shutdown.

You really wouldn't want to do that because the Catch Can will also trap water and other "crud" with time.

Just a quick update. I want to personally thank everyone for their continued support but more important, there patience with this new product. We have had some challenges in the last ten days; we lost the spindle in our machining center that really put a halt on production.

Anyway, we are working overtime to get all orders filled as quickly as possible. Our goal is to have (6) six assemblies complete tomorrow with another six to follow on Thursday. We will ship in the order for which they were received. But plan to have all current orders shipped no later than Friday, October 28th.

Again, thanks for your patience. I am very confident you will be pleased once you receive your new Catch Can.

I installed mine a few days ago it is a beautiful piece and a snap to install, im very satisfied, can't wait to see how much oil it collects.
I looked through the TB with a flashlight and saw a lot of black coating in the intake to.
BTW i cleaned the TB area and throttle plate and there was a coating of oil on the silicone coupler between the TB and air bridge also.
For those that are waiting it's worth it.

I emptied mine Saturday after 1000 hard driving miles and had about 1/8" of oil in the bottom.

Taking it off was a snap but getting it re-threaded was difficult... any tips from the EE guys? I took my time and didn't want to booger the threads bad... however it was difficult to get it started.

Just make sure you have enough light to see what's going on, and make sure the two pieces are lined up. You can carefully turn the bottom piece backwards (like you're unscrewing it) first to help you get the two lined up, and once you feel that the threads are lined up, then turn carelully tighten the bottom back onto the top section.

Also, make sure you keep the O-ring and threads slightly lubed with some of the oil that's caught by the Catch Can.
