New C6 vs the C5
It will be a year in Sept. I have been "Vetteless". I just bought my wife a new sports car but I still miss my Vette. She has told me that for our anniversary she wants for me to get the car I want. I have looked at getting a new C6 Vert but, I really don't like the new body style. I like the C5's best out of every model Vette made. However I like the power the new Vettes have. Need opinions on what to do.

this is a tough one. its all what you want i guess. i like the new body styles. and the power. but if you want a c5 find one that has some mods one it. or buy one and add your own mods.

I just saw a sharp C6 dark red vert...looked real nice. It looked like magnetic red, but must be a different red.
Obviously, I like my C5 more, but you can't go wrong with either.

One thing I would recommend is that you look at the trunk space in the C6 vert (10.4 cu. ft. w/top up; 5 cu. ft. w/ top down) vs the C5 vert (13.9 cu. ft. w/top up, 11.2 cu. ft. w/top down). If you plan on taking many road trips in it, this might be important to you.

I agree with IXLR8-If you like everything about the C5 better except for the power, that's the easy part to fix! You will have less invested, and will depritiate less also. Best of both worlds, the C5 is still a very impressive ride.

it may grow on you.............i have tried every conceivable way to have it grow on me............everytime i look at it from the front as its smiling at me..........I think to myself " God, why did they do that to this car?"
to each his own............the c5 if the far better looking car.

My thoughts exactly, looks like it is smiling. I do plan to go on road trips to the NCM at least once a year with my uncle. He is a big Vette collector and has a couple of cars in the museum. I don't plan on modding the car at all. This car will stay completely stock which ever direction I go in. I modded my last Vette and will not do it again. I think the Vette is perfect the way it is, stock. Just torn between the power of the C6 or the sexy looks of the C5.
On another note... What the hell is a Yaris? And why would I buy *** CR@P anyway. LOL

Want the best stock car? Buy a new C6 vert...
Its really about the color ...imo..
what colors do you like?
Certain cars look better in different colors.
Good luck....and get the c6 for the best stock performer.

If you really don't like the C6 then by all means get a C5!

May not be important for you, but if I did a C6 it would have to be a coupe (as much as I love verts!!!). I take too many long trips in mine and the C5 vert is marginal for really long trips.
I do like the idea of a new car over a used one though. And 400 hp is a good thing, though that's easy enough to obtain w/the c5. Hey, nice dilema to be faced with.
